Really? I looked through a couple of Pages both here and in Ski Gabber, And i didnt see anything. But if there is already a thread, just disregard this one.
correction...300 will be sold in N. America, another 200 I believe will be in Europe, and when you multiply 500 x 700 it doesn't come out to 2 thousand dollars. Also K2 Skis will be making zero dollars on this ski and all proceeds go to the McConkey family. It's been stated elsewhere but still needs to be reiterated If the president of K2, or Seth or Jesus wants these skis he's paying full price. . I personally think it's an amazing gesture to a guy who contributed a lot to the sport and the lives of people around him. Also from an outside prospective looking at K2's decison to do this, it was an easy one for them for sure and everyone took time and effort to make it happen.
are they really giving 700 dollars from every pair to his family or just the profits after they take the cost of production out of it? still a lot of money but then K2 would break even. if they did it the way you said they would lose money on every pair sold. good on them if they actually do lose money but give it to his family anyway.
maybe you should do a quick cost/benefit analysis on what the brains/visions of shane has given k2. and the entire skiing community for that matter; telling everyone they have been designing skis for powder essentially backwards.
