Chronic/anthem

so im looking to get new skis for this season...either 176 chronic or 178 anthems..ski mostly park but like to take cruise runs and ski in the trees too.. but due to past injuries my park riding has become slightly limited...jumps up to say 45 feet but rails are still no problem. so my question is which one would be a better fit...and if the chronics, whats the deal with the recomended mounting point because i love center mounting and was wondering if the chronics arent really supposed to be

biggest question is, is center mounting chronics opposed to -2 or so a big deal?

Basically, Chronics are not a symmetrical ski, therefore, they are not supposed to be mounted like a symmetrical ski.  -2, opposed to true center is not going to make much of a difference.  The ski will ski better at minus two and be a little bit more versatile then if mounted at center.  Don't mount it true center.  Do minus 2 or 2.5.  You could probably get away with Anthems though.  I would do Anthems if I was in your position, little more versatility with the wider waist, better landing platform, center mount only.  Go for the Anthems, especially if you really want a center mounted ski, they are intended to be mounted in the center and they should do fine on 45ft. jumps as long as you aren't landing way backseat.

idk i think you should also consider the anthems weight and width. if you have ridden a fatter ski and know how they feel then go for th anthems. if all your previous skis have been light skinny park tools then you would feel right at home on the chronics.

I have chronics mounted center and I would never mount anywhere else.  The recommended mark is about 6.3 cm back.  If you are going to go up to -2, why not go all the way.  Center mounting a non symmetrical ski is not going to hurt it any more than mounting forward of recommended will.
