I have posted about this in a few other threads, but the conversation about it is always mixed in with another topic. So now it is the focus of the thread.
Back in 1962 the Joint Chiefs of Staff drafted a document laying out a plan "designed to lead inexorably to the objective of adequate justification for US military intervention in Cuba" (page 7, link 1 )
Which means relentlessly striving for a justifiable reason to invade/attack Cuba. AKA making a situation which makes America looks like it was attacked first.
This plan became released in 1997 because of the freedom of information act and investigation into the JFK assassination.
For those who are too lazy here are some highlights of the planned attacks.
under the section entitled "incidents to establish a credible attack"
2. land friendly Cubans "over-the-fence" and stage attack on base. (Guantanamo)
5. blow up ammunition inside the base; start fires.
6. burn aircraft on base (sabotage)
7. lob mortar shells from outside of base into base. Some damage to installation.
"A remember the Maine incident could be arranged" (for those who don't know we sunk our own ship to gain justification for the Spanish American war)
a. we could blow up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba
b. Casualties lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of indignation. (Which means/proves the government uses mass media as a propaganda tool to help manipulate public perception and gain support for a fake cause they created)
Section 4, their plan for Miami, other Florida cities, or maybe even Washington.
Exploding a few plastic bombs in carfully chosen spots, the arrest of Cuban agents and the release of prepared documents substantiating Cuban involvement also would be helpful in projecting the idea of an irresponsible government
(Which means attack our own citizens and falsify/create evidence against Cubans to make Cuba look dangerous and get the American public to support an attack against Cuba)
Section 6. An F-86 properly painted could convince air passengers that they saw a Cuban MIG, especially if the pilot of transport were to announce such a feat.
Section 7. Hijacking attempts of civil air and surface craft should appear to continue as harassing measures condoned by the government of Cuba.
Section 8. It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked a chartered civilian airliner enroute from the United States to Jamaica , Guatemala, Panama, or Venezuela.
a. An Aircraft at Eglin AFB would be painted and numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft belonging to a CIA proprietary organization in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be substituted for the actual civilian aircraft and would be loaded with selected passengers, all boarded with carefully prepared aliases. The actual registered aircraft would be converted to a drone.
b. (after a swap out) The drone aircraft meanwhile will continue to fly the filed flight plan. When over Cuba the drone will being transmitting on the international distress frequency a "MAY DAY" message stating it is under attack by Cuban MIG aircraft. The transmission will be interrupted by destruction of the aircraft which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO radio stations in the Western Hemisphere to tell the US what has happened to the aircraft instead of the US trying to "sell" the incident.
For those who are too lazy to read
Most people's reaction to such a disturbing plan is to claim its fake. First off, its on a government website (.gov) its impossible for anyone but the government to run a website with .gov. Secondly, people have claimed its fake because they say "it looks like it was written by a fourth grader" To that I would say, find a grammatical error. It is written clearly and concisely. This document was to be easily read and understood. Its not a novel. Writing clearly with brevity is actually much harder than you'd think.
This document was written in 1962, which was 4 years before the freedom of information act. They must believe that it would never become part of the public record
another reaction is to ignore it.
finally you can wrestle with the idea and come to understand that these plans were real. This document provides clear evidence that the US government plans attacks against its own citizens and military. It also shows that it plants evidence. It uses the mainstream media to form public opinion and gain support for wars. It shows that we must look as if we were attacked first and any action taken after was in response. If the US government wants control over a situation, it creates a situation which makes us look as if we were attacked to gain support by our citizens ( and internationally) for our response.
Now ask yourself if this was the first and only time US government has made such plans against its own citizens to create the perception of a threat because there was no real threat at all.
Apply this type of mentality that the government approaches international situations to past and present attacks on America and wars.
(and before someone says it, no i know that there are people who do hate America and would attack it given a chance, but I can not bring myself to believe that every attack on America was done by terrorists and not our own government)
