Line anthems vs volkl walls

what would be a better ski for me... im 5'6 i weigh about 130 im still growing so it might be a bit more by winter but yea.. this is really gonna be my first year of actually doing alot of park skiing so theses skis r gonna be pretty much all park but im not really gonna be that good if that matters ahah any one is welcome to help out (:

171 Anthems would be a really fun ski for you, buttery but still strong enough for big hits.

dont think about the size of the ski because you can get 169 walls or 171 anthems, walls are gunna be a bit stiffer, have a more narrow waist (though not by much), and will work a bit better all mountain, anthems will work better in a bit of powder.

well the walls are stiff, but they also have a lot of play in the tips and tails which will give you better pop.

what kind of riding do you do if you arent in the park? since both are great park skis with a good amount of waist, this will probably be the deciding factor.

clearly you have been wronged somehow, anthems are one of the most loved skis on NS.  I'm not disagreeing with the walls be a good ski.  It depends on if he wants to hit big tables and cruise groomers OR play around the  entire hill

I have been riding my anthems for the last 7 weeks and they are super playful. really fun ski and we had a lot of snow this week and they have been doing fine in a bit of pow. for a first park ski the only thing id say that might be a downside is the width. they are really good on rails and once you get used to them they are fine but they do seem like a lot to throw around. for a first park ski id probably suggest going for the wall as it would be a lot more managable for some one of your size for your first season in the park.
either ski you get you're gonna like.

anthems are very overrated, if your doing any jumps they are not great.

suspects were loved going into this season, but then people skied them and realized that just because they read they were good on ns doesn't mean they are a good ski(but at least suspects ride well, I would take suspects over anthems any day) then they all broke.

I have skied Anthems and I deeply hate them.  Yes they are skiable, every ski is skiable, and just because people read on Lines very persuasive advertising that all those features matter somehow makes many people think they do.  Symmetrical for one, who here thinks that Pipe Cleaners, TMs, Chronics, etc. ski any worse switch than a stiff symmetrical ski?  PCs are a full cm off being symmetrical and they kill it switch.  I believe that most people that say a ski is good on here(even if it is) has never skied that ski.

Thread maker, if you want a ski that is perfect for butters and jibs but you can take on jumps(probably what you wanted from worthless Anthems) then get 09 or 2010 Thalls, they do it much better than Anthems.  If you want a ski that is fairly stiff and is great on jumps Walls work well, but PCs or Chronics may be better.  If you want an inbetween, AR6s are a good one.

but if your going to be hitting a lotttt of rails, over hitting jumps, the anthems are for sure the way to go, not just from their ridability, but because ive seen numerous pairs of volkl walls with the edges totally destroyed, including next seasons, from 4 months or so of uber rail sessioning, they are still, one of the best skis out there, no doubt

The Anthem is great for everything because its flexible enough for buttering and all that and can still hit big jumps and be stable. The volkl wall is a stiffer ski, better for jumps and pipe.
