i've been doing tie dye since i was a little kid but lately (the past 3 i've made) have been getting all fucked up. i have read stuff online and watched vids but i keep messing up.
problem:
so i dye them (with the the dye that that comes in bottles and you squirt on) and leave them spiraled for like, 10 hours or so then i pull them out and the the first one i messed up i rinsed it right away and all the dye bled. the second one i made i took it out, hung it up to dry and in the morning it had all bled together. the 3rd one i just did i dried it over night, rinsed it quick with cold water in the morning, then threw it in the dryer and it bled.
so there are a couple other things i could try but id rather not waste another shirt and get it right.
1) use RIT dye where you let it sit for 10 minutes or whatever
2) let it dry overnight then iron it because i heard that helps the color stay in
i have used the squirt on dye before and it seemed to work fine but it didnt work for me these past few times.
when i was younger i used the dye where you set it in and it seemed to work fine not sure why i switched.
advice?
