Scariest movies since 2000

Looking to watch some of the scariest movies (that are on DVD now) since they year 2000. any ideas? ive watched a lot of trailers but the movies just don't look too scary

depends on what you think is scary. my mom is like this super catholic mexican woman so shes terrified of devil movies like the amittyville horror (sp?) but i just saw a movie called a haunting in connecticut that was pretty sketch, but nothing super scary.

It was good, but not that scary.

I know this isn't what you asked for, but I would reccomend you watch The Thing (1982).  If you liked Alien, you'll probably like it.

holy fuck signs will scare the shit out of you no problem.  its a few years old now, and i saw it when it came out, and now still at 17 years old i am scared shitless from taht movie.

fuck those are all so bad.


Hard to come by a scary movie that is... scary. The only one I recall being kind of intense was like the first half or so of the The Descent.

I dont recall a truly scary movie being made recently... Other than overplayed flickering japanese girls with long black hair crawling around and shit, i honestly cant think of anything scary.

not exactly scary, but i reccomend it, it was...interesting

strangers is scary, but i like a plot to go with my scary movies.

28 days later is amazing, didnt really enjoy 28 weeks

signs, i pooped a little

dawn of the dead is fucking good, not scary though

signs was awful.  m. night shamalamalamalalan lost all his novelty after 6th sense blew up the scary movie world.

in terms of the last 9 years, i really enjoyed the haunting in connecticut and 28 days later.  amityville horror was okay.  zodiac and seven were also both pretty solid.

None of the movies listed really scared me... in fact I can't really think of any in the past 10 years that made me lose any sleep. The Ring did it when I was a lad, but that's about it. Scary movies nowadays suck.

If you want a quality story as well as as a 'edge of your seat' thriller, watch El Orfanato (The Orphanage) It was filmed in spanish, and it's made by the director of Pan's Labyrinth, but it's a great one I highly recommend it

It was good, and very trippy. However I laughed during it. I'm pissed because I cant think of a movie that was scary, or the last time i was scared. Amityville was good, Hostels were ok, haunting in ct was good, but again, I laughed during it.

I'm watching "À l'intérieur" tonight and will let you know. Supposedly, it is one of the most disturbing horror movies to have come out ever, let alone since 2000.

House On Haunted Hill has got to be one of the most messed up movies i've ever seen. Just the shit it in and the stuff that goes down is intense. Its a really good movie and i really suggest checking it out, from 1999 though.

Also watch "In the Mouth of Madness". I haven't seen it in quite a few years, but definitely recall it being considerably twisted and "scary". I have a shitload of horror movies in my Netflix queue that I'll try to give short reviews of as I watch them.
