Alright NS. I know you might be sick of these types of threads, but I need your help. Two of my friends have pit bikes, now I want one. Of course, my parents, never being around any motorized vehicle besides a car always pull the: "No, I don't know anything about those machines and they are really dangerous." Of course, they are completely fine with me DH mtb riding right next to cliffs and gulches where I could easily fall in and drown, and they are fine with me riding 55mph down a trail at the Mammoth mtb park. So of couse, I have the full face helmet, shin/knee pads, elbow pads, and my friend could even sell me a body armor suit for cheap. I have the money and a good paying job. I am allowed to drop 30 ft. cliffs and charge through trees on my skis, all they will say is: "Be careful and don't do anything stupid." So I have the balance to ride this, I know how bikes ride, and it would be super fun to just cruise around on or ride down at the river by my house. I already have a few ideas thought out, "it keeps me off of drugs." (I don't do drugs anyways), "gives me something to do in the summer," "my friends have them." What else NS?

try and find some safety facts or something to get them to be less worried. thats what i did to convince my parents to let me buy myself a trampoline. i told them id buy a net and everything and that there was no danger of falling off because the net was only there to protect me on the second bounce blah blah..

Here is my advice:

1. Invest the money you would have spent on the pit bike on a marijuana growing supplies.
2. Begin growing.
3. Crop out and sell half to a heavy-set Cuban man.
4. Use your earnings to purchase an entire fleet of pit bikes for you and all your friends.
5. Bust through your parents bedroom wall while they are sleeping with your posse of pit bikers and blow hits in their faces all night long. This will not only make them make them feel foolish for not letting you get a pit bike in the first place, but they will also be jealous of the immense amount of friends/money/weed you have acquired.

Yeah, I will definitely look for some. They would be way more for a pit bike than a trampoline. First time I ever said I want a tramp, immediate response was: "no way in hell, it brings up the homeowners and you can get hurt so easily." Thanks for the tips. Please keep them coming NS. I want this thing so fucking good. Another typical response is: "What about money? Save your money." Well, I am set on ski gear for this season, I have a job, I will receive a paycheck over $200 and the next will be at least $100, then I am done, but, I already have $720 in the bank. So that will put me over a grand. Then I am selling one of my bikes, that should be another grand right there. $2000, pit bike costs $500. The bike is in mint condition, and it retails for $2000 brand new (That's what my friend says), I have all the safety gear, if I need to sell it, I have other friends and can get rid of it for at least $400. If my friends don't want it, then I can just throw it back up on Craigslist.

tell them if you do fall off a pit bike youre colser to the ground compared to a reagular dirt bike so there is less chance of you hurting your self badly

What pit bike do you want to get? Don't waste your time with a off brand one they'll break pretty damn fast. Make sure its a yamaha, suzuki, kawasaki, honda. I think the best bang for your buck will be a ttr-90, ttr-110 or a the same model in one of the other brands. Their super fun stock and pretty damn durable. All my buddies that race MX use them probably more than their fullsize bikes.

Damn, I was hoping for another useful post, oh well hahaha. That gave me a good laugh.

Now I am trying to decide between these two bikes:
First here is some background info, I am 5'6", 15 years old, about 125-130lbs.

Option A:
125 CC, has a little more use than option B and is also $100 more. I think I can get it so there is a $50 difference, but it is about an hour drive down for this bike. Still in great condish and clocks out at 50mph. That is all the info he listed. I know it has front and rear disc brakes

Option B:
110 CC, has only 1 hour of use, $450, 4 Speed, auto clutch, electric start. However, the guy says his son is too big for it (sorry, I am a total n00b with this stuff, but is that the basic idea of a pit bike, or are there adult pit bikes, and then kids bikes?). This option is also MUCH closer to me. The kid is in the same school district as me, so he cannot be far. He says the bike is silver and black 3-4 years old. Is this an off brand I should be worried about?

I am thinking B would be good. But something inside me says I need to just cough up the extra bucks and get my dad to haul me down an hour to pick up option A. NS, what should I do?

Haha, so awesome.

I usually use the "keep me off drugs" thing, and it works pretty well i will say. A lot of parents will go to great extents to keep their kids away from drugs.

Jack, I assume that you still do a lot of other things in the Summer and stuff? If not, you couls just say it's a way to keep you busy and active until ski season starts up.
