I don't know how many of you guys have heard about this but it's an email account that people are supposed to send links of supposed health care reform "misinformation". The article isn't great but its the first one I found.

hahaha, it's true, and it's bullshit. I just turned myself in, you all should do the same if you feel strongly about shooting this bill down. Using a tax-payer funded website, www.whitehouse.gov, to instruct Americans to spy on eachother and report any "misinformation" aka anything that goes against the Obama admin's agenda. So much for Hillary Clinton's schpiel about the right to a dissenting opinion. How many people have you reported today?

On a serious note though, what is their reason for setting up this email account to take all these "fishy" facts. What do they think they can do? They can't sensor the internet and they can't make anyone stop making those claims, fuck I could post an expose on a blog about how this new plan will murder babies and it's my right to do it. Really what is their reasoning for doing this what do you guys think they're doing with all these emails.

Ha, that video on the white house blog was retarded. she stepped around the serious question of how much will we have to pay for others insurance. No shit I can keep my existing health insurance as long as I'm paying privately for it. but why should I have to spend more tax dollars + my health insurance?

I'm perfectly fine with social healthcare if it runs like this:
I pay for my own private healthcare, which allows me to not pay increased taxes for social healthcare
Certain doctors work for the government, and certain docs are private only, allowing me to still see my doc whenever I want, and not worry about 50 million more people flooding my private hospital.

first off, I know a lot of you hate glenn beck, and he can be kinda crazy sometimes, but he is actually really funny(usually when things are so important as they are now).

Check out glenn becks show, from I think, wednesday. He does a great spoof of that lady's video on the whitehouse blog. Its pretty good. (for anyone not impressed by that, Glenn Beck's More(on) Trivia, is one of the funniest things I've heard. It does not have much to do with politics. Check it out).


Sorry to say this, and I dont want to hijack this thread, but you will only be able to keep your insurance for a limited time. If there is a change in your policy (which they happen every year to every few years), you have to go on Obama's plan. Also, many companies will stop paying for your insurance because they can transfer you over to the national plan and have less costs. The national plan can operate at a loss, and makes unfair competition with private insurance companies, which will eventually be almost nonexistent. Look at the Congressional Budget Office Analysis of the health care plan.

You are going to have to pay taxes, or someone is, to pay for doctors working for the government. Now, I dont think the government should be giving people healthcare, but if they have to do it, they should offer health saving accounts, that allow people to buy their own private insurance. And this is along with other things such as TORT reform, insurance companies competing over state lines, and other things to decrease costs for everyone.

Thats all good and  right (Minus having any respect for that Beck prick) but I really don't want to turn this into a debate over the bill. This thread is about the totalitarian lunacy that is this email account that people are supposed to report others to.

I know you're passionate about this, but lets stick to just this issue in this thread.

The email you wrote is great. This entire system is ridiculous.

I saw the whitehouse blog on how we should turn in scary chain emails and videos that are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to "uncover" the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions. I never thought that I could find a video so deceitful, so delusive, so untruthful. I need to pass along this horrible misinformation to you guys. I think this is such a huge deal because health care reform only limits your right of free choice when it comes to health care. But this email Obama has set up threatens to limit our free speech which is the most important right (besides maybe the freedom to assemble) that we hold. It concerns me that this exists and I will be fighting with my time and money in 2010 and 2012 to kick out anyone in office who would support a program like this.
