SOMEONE HELP ME DECIDE WHAT SKIS TO GET!

so im going to buy a 2010 model this year, since i actually worked my ass of this summer and have some xtra cash.  Im thinking either the line anthems, or the chronics.  I like rails alot, but am really focusing on getting better at stomping bigger tricks and bigger airs.  Saying this i feel like the chronic would be better for that because its stiffer and has more stability in the air.  also, im about 5'10", i usually get skis around 170, is this too big, im thinkin about goin a lil smaller this season like 166 or so.  please help broskis.

anyway first off being 5'11" 170 is wayyyyyyy toooooo small of a ski. going smaller than that would...suck. I'm 5'8" and I had 181's for my park ski and 183's for my pow ski. your first step should be getting a longer ski, especially since you said you want to go bigger this year. definitely get on something 178+. if you want a stiff ski then by all means do not get anthems. im not saying they're bad on jumps, I skied invaders 2 seasons ago and I thought they were pretty dece on jumps, granted I wouldn't hit 90 footers with them but im not much of a jump skier anyway so I thought they were fine. they're fun skis, but not the stiffest. chronics are dope too, just more expensive but if you want something stiff that performs well on big jumps, these are the way to go. id look into the afterbangs as well, im getting them this season and they look awesome. plus line is claiming that they're indestructable, and I believe them. we'll see.

nah man 170 is not too big for you. definitely don't go smaller than that. how much do you weigh? are you skiing only park or do you like some pow and glades? where do you live? id go for the anthems just cause i like softer skis and they will be able to perform decently in a little bit of fresh. softer skis are just a lot more fun than stiff ones and jumping on them is still perfectly fine.

anthems for sure, they will serve you well just about anywhere.

i go to school in VT, usually ski Killington cuz its mad close to my college (even though i really hate killington).  I used to race back in the day for like 10 yrs so i have an aggressive style.  i appreciate your help, but i think 178's might be a lil too big, plus i only weigh like 150.  i feel like the chronics could be a good choice in a 170.  might check out the afterbangs too, heard good stuff about em, plus line is sick and its straight outta albany ny, reppin east coast.

yeah man definitely go bigger. it'll make you're landings way more solid and give you more stability. it may be a little weirder to spin at first but you'll get over it. trust me you'll benefit from longer skis for sure.

LTE 178.  That would be a perfect size and ski for the east coast

170cm is to small.. I was skiing 168cm and buy some 176cm dumont and they are perfect. Btw im 5'10 145 lbs

Chronics are so fun on ramps.

I actually wanted to say that i'm 5'4 and 116lbs and i ski 166cm chronics, so you should really go longer.
