The website says theyre scheduled for october 2. I thought they opened a while before that last year. Whats the gossip, do you think theres enough snow up there to start in september. I havent been up since early july.

Here's the dealio. We will be closing sept 7th and be re-opening october 2nd (snow permitting) The shut down time is a couple weeks longer than last year to do maintenance to lifts.
The Public park will be closing August 15th. Yah I know you're all pissed but we need to pull stuff down and start getting it ready for the winter. We are planning on building a bunch of new rails this fall, so we will have a decent rail line for once. So if you want to hit any terrain features for the rest of the summer you better get up her by the 15th. After that it will just be freeriding on the snowfield.
When or if we do open October 2nd it will be on Palmer only and Fusion passes will be valid at that time, so once again it's a great deal if you want to ride on 1 pass for 8 months.

We lost access to the snowfield, the canyon just below midway has no snow in it, bummer I know, but it's all good cuz I just hopped a flight to New Zealand. Sitting in an internet Cafe in Queenstown right now. Going shreding tomorrow.
Portland forcast is calling for cooler weather on the way so cross your fingers for some snow and maybe re-open palmer, but it usually doesn't get enough coverage to open that sucker up until early nov.
gotta run there's a cute looking sheep calling my name

Guys it was like 106 degrees in Portland this Summer....ONE HUNDRED AND SIX...IN PORTLAND...obviously there was a lot more snow melt than usual...I mean it's been in the 90's during the last couple weeks, and it's almost October. Let's just hope that the hot during the summer translates to a cold snowy winter and we should be good to go
