Afterbangs or p3's

afterbangs are supposedly as close to indestructable as a ski can get. We'll see if Line's claims are proven this next season...

id say there will prob be some issues w the afterbangs. just cause it usually takes a season or two to iron out a new product. but u never know. ive heard a lot of good things about the p3s tho

Ive heard a few bad things about scott skis but that was 2 seasons ago.

Ive got line invaders and I absolutly love them. I know there not the afterbang but there prob similar im planning on getting afterbangs sometime this week

well supposedly Line says they have been in development for 4 years, but i agree with you and do have some doubt of my own that they will be as good they say they will be. I think they will either be a huge success or a huge failure haha...

I saw the afterbangs in a ski shop last week and based on appearance they do look pretty indestructible.

Since you two have the same icon and both your names start with an M, I thought you posted without afterbangs, got some, and then posted again.

haha, i love how twall rides some p3's and theres threads popping up everywhere about kids wanting them...

but thats off-topic, my apologies...


p3's- scott is an AMAZING company, no matter what anyone says. their skis are great, and ride great. they warranty well, and have very good durability on their products. they have tried and tested gear, and no one can take that away from them. the p3's are no difference. you'll love them.

afterbangs- Line is just like Scott. Amazing company, amazing people working for them. they're constantly on the edge of the innovative, which is cool and nice. they have a fresh approach. and the afterbang concept of sandwhich construction seems like a good idea. BUT they're new, and new products USUALLY have problems. they aren't ironed out yet, through mass testing. Sorta like the suspects/dumonts from Salomon of the 08-09 season. they put in some new tech, edge armor, and fucked their skis pretty much. they had warranties out the ass due to kids skis just shitting out on them, and they lost alot of customers, probably for life, because of the bad experience those consumers had on their products they pretty much garunteed to be "indestructible".



so, if you want a ski that you can really depend on (between these two only), i would go with the p3. It comes from a reptuable company that has taken the time in the industry to learn everything there is to know, and Line is in the same boat, they're great. but they have a new product and they might have some unforseen problems lurking in those skis. You could always look at Chronics/Anthems, which are great skis.

I am in no way bashing Line at all, simply making the point that new products have many flaws, just like iPods with Apple, with the first gen's being practically fucked from the get go.

after reading the title i reread it in my mind and it went like this:  hype or hype?  ha.     jk, both should be sick skis.  My friend has a pair of p3's and loves em.

Saw them at Ski Rack and they were sick.  and to Pat3: you should probably read up on the afterbang before posting that no testing has been done on them.  They have been through R&D for the past 4 years.  I'm pretty sure Line figured out what was wrong with them in the beginning and has foxed them up for the consumer.
