Has anyone skied them? Im thinking about getting a pair to ride for the next couple seasons. I've never owned a pair of twintips before, nor have I spent a lot of time in the park but im looking to change that. Im a pretty good/confident skier, Im 18 5'3 130 live in the east. any insight on the ski or company would be appreciated.
That's the ski I'm currently skiing on, I haven't done much with them, but based on what I have done with them, they are a really sick ski, lightweight, poppy, low swing weight, awesome edges. They are VERY hard to find on the east coast and I'm pretty sure I have the last ski from 2009 (right after I bought mine they disappeared from the online store) so you would be buying the 2010 model which is $575. My only concern for you is that since this is going to be your first park ski, do you really want to spend $575. I really don't think you'll get the full potential out of them in your first year, and east coast park skiing pretty much destroys skis very quickly (lots of ice and rail do a number on skis). I would recommend going to a local shop and looking at a decent, low priced ski to start on, and then in a season or two pick up the dogmas, I would look at like a k2 silencer or something like that. Go to a shop, and ask about a beginner park ski, they should be able to hook you up.
make sure you go into a shop that knows what they're talking about though, cause they could recommend you something completely wrong even though it may be a park ski. Look at a lot of last years models skis also, disorerlys, ar6, wall, punx, invaders. I'm in NJ and I have disorderlys, they have like no swing weight and are pretty light.
this is true, don't go to somewhere that's just going to try and sell you their most expensive park ski. A good sign that its more of a beginner park ski is that it will be pretty cheap (around the $200-$300 mark). Also, very few pros will be riding them (but that doesn't matter to you yet, next season will be different), try not to spend a lot cause most likely you'll want to get a new pair next season (maybe even those dogmas). However, you can get good bindings/boots (if you don't already have them) cause those can be used next season.
