Great edit with questions

Hello,
first i hope this isn't a repost i searchbarred and everything and second i have been trying to figure this out with key framing but i am sure its much much more complicated than that, this is a really cool effect they use in the edit where the camera zooms in focuses and moves around, if you have any idea how its done please let me know.

probably isnt right but it looks like they have slowed it down and then increased the keyframe scale and then used an effect like wiggle to make it move around a bit

That is definatly impressive. He must me using a 3D graphics program because without rediclous cameras you cant zoom that far or slow down that much without loosing picture quality. Most likely those shots of the board spinning slowly are fake. You can see in the last shot its kinda sketchey around the corners of the board.

ya i have no idea but i know they do alot of other cool affects and i heard the use adobe after affects so i figured it was a feature from that but i didnt think of a 3d software program

You think it's just AE?  Watch the rest of his videos, the effects he uses are fucking intense.  I wouldn't doubt that he uses a custom graphics/animation type program

...maybe he's just a wiz at AE, who knows?

He's definitely using some kind of animation, he's like creating new frames and shit, which could be just other frames hes shot, but def not just AE.

i think it's either 3d stuff or he got his hands on a RED camera and was just used multiple angles and cuts. The high res of a RED camera would allow for the zooming that he's doing with those shots, especially if he was shooting 720 and not 1080 for the main shots. Out of curiosity i just looked it up and the RED one is capable of shooting 120fps at 2K. So i suppose that could be a possibility. And then from there it would just be a matter of rotoscoping and breaking the shot into different layers; then moving those layers around to create the effect.

I could however be completely wrong. Just a thought I had.

That's what I thought.

And yeah, definitely some rotoscoping going on, you see it when he's changing the angles and shit as if on a dolly...but he's not wtf? lawl that's intense.

They do similar effects in Revolve 2008, the kiteboarding video. definitely worth checking out.
