So I got a new editing program a while back (final cut express) and these are a few of my edits I've made since then. also, I know the first song was used in a coc edit a while back, but I started editing before the edit came out so I just stuck with it....

The first edit was dope.  I really liked it.

Second edit was alright, I still liked it, but you should probably mute your voice at some points.  I know the bro yell when your buddy lands a sick trick is pretty standard, but there were like 4 and some of them were a little unnecessary.  No hate, just my two cents.  The shots were good, but that one rail section at the beginning was a little repetitive with that same shot of the rail over and over, and you didn't really have any good transitions.

Third edit, the frames sliding up and shit kinda hurt my head.  Other than that, I liked it, your buddy is sick.

alright sweet thanks, ill keep that in mind about the our voice and all... and yeah that rail section was repetitive, and i didnt really like those shots either, but I had to put in just to get some peoples shots in. and about the promo, yeah, i was trying a lot of new stuff there, good to know how it worked out. what did you think of the colors? i kinda messed around with color correction a bit....

ha thanks, yeah i was wondering what transition i should use there, i think its like keyframing of one of the blur filters and then a quick additive dissolve...

yah I probably would have had that second try. right after trying with cross dissolve but the result would have been similar. Thanks for saving me some time though

You're good at editing dude.  Maybe smooth out the filming a little but, do more tripod shots.  Take off transition to landing clips are always sick, but it takes two cameras.  3rd video was a little flashy for my liking.  maybe not so many flashy transitions and keep it a little more flowy, but otherwise it was all really dope and looked like you guys were having a good time.  Keep up the good work man, throw your next edit up for comparison to the originals posted.

thanks man. yeah im not the filmer but ill let him know, and i love to do the shots with like 2 angles of the same trick if thats what your talking about, but like you said we either gotta get the exact same trick twice or be using 2 cameras.... and yeah the 3rd one was pretty bright and fast/rough, so ill work on smoothing some of that stuff out. and check that edit i just posted above you if you didnt see it, or my channel for some more: http://vimeo.com/channels/franktraylor

To comment on the filming, it should be better this year considering i have a very nice new tripod and not a 25 dollar target one and i have a questions for anyone that will help, any ideas on a good compact steadycam thats not super exspensive, itd be very nice thanks.

and also, heres another quick edit, i dont do slomo a lot so i was just messing around with it + earthquake effect and color correction... so tell me what ya think and what i can do better in the future.

I'll just tell you now, I hated the song, sorry man.  I don't know if I liked the earthquake effect a whole lot though, I did like the color correction a lot.  That made the video that much better.  The Earthquake effect took away from it IMO.  Song didn't help either.

alright, yeah i guess the songs dont always work for everybody, especially not that one... it was also used in one of tudor and spriggs edits i think early season, so not too original either haha, but whatever, just messin around with some stuff. and ill keep that in mind about the earthquake effect. slomo seemed to turn out ok though, and thats good that like the cc, been working on that lately

i really like the song and though the earthquake effect actually added to the feel of the "slomo thug edit" which is what you are going for i assume, if u used it every shot it would have been a bit boring just cuz it would have been predictable but you refrained from doing that, and as he said, the cc was really good, liked the high contrast

the third one had some sick skiing but the editing was meh, As one of the first people said, I didn't really like the frames sliding up. During your edits you really don't need MEEEGGGGAAAAMMMOOOOOO or anything of the sort. Watch some of the edits in the top rated, and try and make your editing a bit like that.

were using an hdr-hc1 in sd 16-9 for all winter edits besides jess edit, hd takes up to much room for me atm

its alright, that net is fucking amazing though, theres sooo safe haha... it bounces you pretty high, although we hit the ground sometimes when were double bouncing....

and tf you werent shooting 16-9, thats why i got screwed with the black bars on top and bottom....
