Pow skis

before anyone says anything yes i kno "searchbar" but whatever i need new info.

Alright so I'm going to be going out west this year for about 3 weeks total and I'm moving there next year and I need new pow skis. I'm pretty knowledgeable about skis but I just wanted some input on some stuff as live in the midwest so I only ski powder when I'm out west. I'm about 6'1" 185 lbs. I'm a good skier and ski pretty aggressive but not crazy aggressive. I'll mainly use these skis for bowls, trees, and dropping some smaller cliffs. I'm looking to get medium flex ski. So nothing like the flex of Line EP's. I also don't want a long ski either. I want to keep it in the 179-186 range. I just find it annoying skiing trees with longer skis some people like it though.

The skis I'm interested in are:

On3p Billy Goats
K2 obsethed
Rossi S6 and S7
Line Prophet 100
Salomon Czar
Possibly Armada JJ's??

Feel free to suggest any others also

i'd suggest the caylors rather than the billy goat.

the billy goat is more playful, than the caylor. the caylor is medium stiffness, and perfect for the occasional charging, and just ripping some pow turns in the trees.
the BG's are the most playful ski in the on3p line i think, so personally i would go caylors.

if your looking for more of a powder/park ski i'd go for the Line Elizabeths.. there soft so the softness acts kinda like rocker in pow

if you want a pure pow ski my first choice would be the hellbents..

the lizzys are just as soft if not softer than the EP pros....and he said he didn't want the EP pros.

The BG, Prophet 100, and JJ all sound like awesome choices for you.  The BG is also more geared towards what you described by my understanding, so I'm not sure why you would need the Caylors.

no to my understanding, the caylor would fit what he wants.

it's stiff enough to rip on, but it's not like a 2x4. i would think at 120 under foot it would be perfect but thats just me.

Alright thanks everyone for all of the help +k. The fattest ski I've skied pow in was 100mm in the waist. So I'm hesitant to ride a really fat ski such as hellbents. I'm a strong skier and a big guy, do you think I get the hang of a fatter ski quickly? Then again idk if I really want a fat ski for what I'm using it for. I want to be able to slash turns really well and ski tight trees.

That's exactly why I think the BG is more for you than the Caylor is.  It's supposed to be the best tree ski they have.

yea whatever floats your boat.

the caylor is more poppy, so i think its fun in the trees.

you really can't go wrong with the Billy Goats or the caylors, both great skis. personally i would say caylors but obviously some people dissagree. try PM'ing iggyskier, he owns on3p, and i'm sure he'll tell you what the right choice is.

if your only gonna be out here for 3 weeks dont buy yet just demo and see what you like and then next year get whatever you think works for you but i think you should try surface ll2 their pretty sweet

wow please stop talking

lizzys are a good amount stiffer then EPs, even next years Eps which are 15% stiffer, they are not even comparible. the closest ski line made in flex was invaders and those were stiffer

first off it takes like half a run to get used to fat skis.  second, if you want to be able to ski tight trees you want something with reverse sidecut, and if you want to slash turns get something with rocker.  put it all together and you got a few skis that are perfect for you:   ARG's (my pow ski pm me), donner parties(same as ARG), and JJ's. 

I still firmly believe that jj's are the best resort pow ski there is right now.  it has sidecut underfoot to carve hard snow and crud, with reverse sidecut on the tips for that pivot point in trees that make able to charge and shut down yourspeed in an instant.  and it has reverse camber with is baller.  it is also a medium flex so in can charge a little and wont fold on clif drops/

172 lizzys are small for most people, line really needs to make a 182 lizzy, they would sell so many.

Why not get some Volkl Kuros or Chopsticks? They are not soft, they are good for powder, and they are appropiate sizes. Plus they are rockered beasts.

^^ Samgillin has JJs and he loves em. He uses them for almost the exact same thing that you want them for.  The Hellbents sound to soft for what you want.  As mentioned, check out the chopsticks. they are awesome for dropping cliffs and are much stiffer than the Hellbents and EP pros.  They also charge off and stomp whatever you point em at. And the symetrical shap and tail rocker is nice if you occaisonally ski switch.  The Czars also sound good for you if you dont want something with a tail rocker. They are much more managable on groomers and stuff. If you can, I would say demo as many options as you can while your on the hill. Most ski shops on the mountain have demos available.  Good luck, hope this helps

Or, you could design your own skis, and have the guy at 333 skis build you a pair for 222 dollars.
