I saw this article that one of the ski resorts in PA posted that says that the East is gonna have a snowy year and the opposite for the West because of the El Nino effect. They are predicting a similar winter to the winter of 02-03 where we got 34 in. in MD. Sorry if this is a repost, but i have been on vacation.
