Bob burquist is a d-bag

alright, so he's literally stolen the last two x-games bigair golds from more deserving competitors (jake brown and danny way, respectively) and now he's repeatedly throwing down the same runs he's done a thousand times in all of the x-games bigair comps he's ever been in, yet every time he's claiming them and fake-crying as if it's the first time he's stuck those tricks

he has a fucking mega ramp in his BACK YARD, how has he not come up with a new run by now??

so jake brown just stomped a HUGE sick run, so did this other taylor kid, and bob burquist just did the exact same run he robbed gold with last year and somehow got tied for first with brown

the camera then panned to jake brown at the top of the ramp right as he said "that's fucking bullshit"

i literally clapped at the television, im starting to hate bob burnquist the same way i hate shaun white

You sir are a fucking idiot. First of all his run is so tech and so much harder than the rest. He is dropping in switch on a 90 foot tall ramp. Then taking off switch he does a backside 180 so he is blind most of the way. Then on the quarterpipe he does a backside 360 so again he is blind most of the way. Not to mention he lands switch from 20ft high onto a 27ft high quarter pipe. You obviously don't skateboard or you would know how fucking hard his run is.

So what if he has a mega ramp in his backyard, Danny way has one too. Get real. And Fuck you for calling him a Dbag. Bob is a sincere and genuine guy. You've probably never met him so you have zero room to talk. He is probably just stoked to see everything being thrown down tonight while you have to bitch and moan because you don't know shit.

not really, burnquist could've at least had the balls to be a man and throw his hardest possible run at the wall. brown tried the 9 and failed, burnquist didnt even get past the first hit

jake brown clearly looked pissed that he didnt get to win it the "right" way, still think it went down pretty lame, the judges at these fucking things need to stop inflating scores based on guys' reputations

and when are they gonna start deducting for dragging knuckles on landings like they do for snowboard pipe? cause burnquist wouldnt even be in the top 4 if they did...

God the OP is so fucking stupid. Its up to the judges who they think should win. With that said both of their best runs were judged at the same score. So they felt they were the same difficulty. Jake won with the run he knew he could land. He's never landed a 900 on the mega ramp so I know he didn't plan on landing it to win it the "right way". And saying Bob didn't try is a insult. If you've ever met they dude you'd know he always puts in a 110%.

Don't get me wrong I'm stoked Jake finally won but your a fucking idiot for calling Burnquist a dbag and saying he robbed the gold from others.

sure it may be really gay that hes taking gold but i gotta take into consideration that the things they are doing are super hard. so even if he did the same run that just means he hasnt come up with anything new but it doesnt mean hes a douche bag.

You're an idiot too. You want the judges to feel bad for Jake because he fell and give him a higher score? He had one of the hardest falls of all time I'll give him that. But I've personally seen Bob take hard slams one after the other. He is seriously nuts how he gets up from some of the falls. And how can you saw Bob doesn't deserve to win? No one else is dropping in switch or landing switch but like 4 other guys did a 360 with a grab over the gap then a 540. All of the tricks are super hard but Bob is a ahead of everyone in the switch game.

i understand "strategy to win" about as well as you understand the best way to attack an all-you-can-eat chinese buffet, which is to say i understand it perfectly

my problem is with the way he carries himself. i find it annoying that he gets all emotional and claim-y whenever he lands that same run that he's had on lockdown for the last 3 years while everyone else is pushing the envelope and stomping very technical and much fresher tricks without freaking out and wringing their hands and making pained glances toward the heavens after EVERY SINGLE RUN

but whatever, at this point im just stoked for Big Air Rail Jam...we'll see if he puts something down that makes me eat my hat afterwards. ill give him credit where it's due if he puts on a good show at that event.

there is a whole world of skateboarding out there that exists outside of the four days of a televised joke known as the xgames.

and yes, plenty of people give a shit.  but those people dont waste their time watching people 'hit jumps' and 'get air' on espn once a year.  meaning bob burnquists reaction to jake browns run doesnt mean shit.  grow up.

I'm watching the street comp right now (DVR'ed it), and every time Paul Rodriguez lands something I say to myself, "Well, he's getting a 45 because he's P-Rod."  No hate on P-Rod, his shit is ill, but there are other guys that deserve to get equal scores but don't because of the judges.

And the big-fucking-air rail jam...WHAT THE FUCK?

Adam Taylor throws a kickflip to indy to 50-50...fucking insane.  Doesn't even podium. 

Rob Lorifice throws an overcrooks...also insane.  Gets 3rd below, guess who, Bob Burnquist and Danny Way.

Danny Way gets up and throws a switch 50-50...okay, yes his ankle is fucked, yes he's dropping switch, but it's still just a fucking 50-50.  And he gets a 94? What the fuck?  It has to be just because he's Danny Way, because otherwise I see no explanation for it whatsoever.

These games are seriously fucked.

And P.S., if Sal Masakela makes one more joke about Nyjah's dreads, religion, or name (NyJAH! NyJAH Huston!), I'm going to fly out to L.A. and personally beat the shit out of him.

yah i felt like he got totally robbed in the regular big-air as well. he threw a really sick run than id never seen before and i think ended up 4th. i feel like lorifice deserved podium though just cause my brother and i were pulling for him to land SOMETHING cause he bailed on 3 of his runs just doing straight air nosebones. but it seems like both of them should've been top 3, hint hint.

unfortunately i didnt catch the big air rail jam though, i went out to my friends ranch to test out the new guns we bought last week and i dont have a DVR...im sure ill catch a replay at some point though, but it's a bit of a bummer


and yah, sal masekela is so fucking annoying i cant handle it sometimes...

I don't think you know what your talking about with PRod. I'm pretty sure 90% of the tricks he did in street were switch. I think he deserved most of the scores he got. He was doing straight video part tricks on the last section. Switch kickflip and heelflip down the 12 stair that is ridiculous. I think everyone was actually scored well for once. Dyet is a monster and I'm glad to see him podium.

Didn't see the big air rail jam so I can't comment on that.

Yeah I was really pumped to see Dyet podium.  Would've liked to see Dompierre podium but he fell a lot and got a zero for one of his scores so that's fair.  I may be getting a bit carried away with P-Rod, but more than his scores being high it was that a lot of other people were not getting fairly scored for the huge bangers they were throwing down.  I mean P-Rod killed it, but so did other people and they didn't get the scores they deserved a lot of the time.
