Thats It Thats All of Surfing??

Vincent Laforet (the first guy to test the 5d MK2 video capabilities) has been filming a short narrative film on one of the world’s top surfers, Jamie O’Brien, on the North Shore of Hawai’i. He has been using a RED ONE with canon eos lenses and a 5d MK2 with housing, plus a remote control helicopter and Steadicam's. Here is a first look at some of the shots from the film. They're pretty mindblowing

holy fack. the aerial shots with super skinny dof are jizztastic. and just about all the other shots. only draw back is that "shaky" feeling you get from filming with the dslr or w/e that red setup is.

im going to go against the grain and say meh. now, im not saying the shots werent awesome. they were fucking sick, and i very much enjoyed watching it. but the filming itself wasnt all that great (i havent seen that's it that's all, so maybe the filming in that isnt good either). this guy is a good filmer shooting with a great camera. those shots are pretty much the standard surfing shots, but the RED just makes them look a lot sicker color-wise.

agreed, but he can get away with it because of all the movement that is going on in surfing that just looks so sick in that insane HD. but ya i was thinking of that when i watched it too

The cinematography was top notch, but the shots weren't up to par.
I felt like it was more about the camera than the surfing.
