Media Sorting Options? Most Today / This Week / All Time

Yeah - we're actually ripping the gallery apart and re-building it right now. The main goal is to give much better sorting options for media and improve the upload process all at once. The current gallery is made up of a lot of old code and its time to rip it out and start over.

Are you going to be killing foreign embeds, because i think everyone is sufficiently happy with uploading their videos to NS.

I hope foreign embeds (youtube) are still allowed, because it still provides a VAST swath of videos that aren't ski related, but might pop up in conversation in a thread........ the most notable one that I can think of right now being music videos.......

I think NS media is for original ski/NS related content provided by members directly, where foreign embeds are more for culture at large topics where the videos are already online....... it seems kind of silly to me to create a system where stuff would need to be pulled off another video service and then re-uploaded to NS......

I think it is fair to say that foreign embeds should be removed from the video section. I have timed it, NS is now faster than Vimeo, including the processing times. Although NS does not provide HD support (yet?!) you can still post links to the HD vimeo, like most do. Also NS provides us with the "Download Original" option which allows you to view the video at the size the uploader exported at. So after this short rant, my point is, I agree with Pippin! Get rid of foreign embed!

I have no qualms with getting rid of foreign embeds.  The quality of the NS player exceeded my expectations, and I'm stoked that I can support the site like this.

One recommendation is to make the upload process smoother.  Maybe add a progress bar or something?
