Replying to C.A.R.S. What should I get?

All dealerships are giving me $4500 trade-in for my 1995 Dodge Caravan.  Until now, I was gonna get a 2003 Forester with 100k on it for $6000.  Now, with the C.ar A.llowance R.ebate S.ystem, my parents are having me look at newer cars.

So now I am wondering what I should get.  I would love to have AWD but new Subarus are out of the picture.  Are there any other cars I can look at that have the sportyness and snow-mastering abilities of a  Subaru?  I saw an AWD Ford Fusion the other day, but I want to look at a Rabbit, Golf, civic, or other 'cheaper' car.
