What is the maximum size ski you can fit in the Heli Pro's diagonal ski carry loops?

the question is the fattest tail of a ski, since the tip doesn't need to go threw any loop, and the waist is normally skinnier than the tail.  I think my 16L Heli Pro can fit up to about a 130 tail.  I am 6'1" and wish I got the 20L though...and the 20L has an adjustable cable loop so you could probably fit any skis you want.

try to be more helpful...

like take pics of ur hellbents in ur heli pro if they fit or just describe why to get a pro II
helping people doesnt take long no more than 15 min and when you want to know something youll be thankful for the helpful nsers

but yes do get a pro II
i have one and mine has aa adjustable cable instead of the strap
and i can hold lots more gear

i just took the following pics to give you an idea
i first stuffed ma pack with a memory foam pillow that was bigger so it moulded expanding it to its fullest and then crammed the outside pockets with flashlights and frisbees still got some room in the shovel/probe pocket
then i put ma bacons in dimensions 142/115/139 mm they fit nice and comfy on ma back

ma abnormally small looking bath tub
ma gay colored phone
ma pink comforter
ma sponge bob pillow
or ma smokey the bear ruler

what im trying to say is get a pro II with the chord thing, it will fit any skis and is a nicer pack imo

yeah cable is nice, theres a strap in this hidden pocket that you use to tighten it so when not using you can retract it s just that DK tab is sticking out


and they are not bad at all when hiking in snow if they are secured right. might slightly move but not so its real annoying

yes in any Dakine Heli pack they will be fine.

oh and get one of these: http://www.nordas.com/Rossignol_Alpine_Velcro_Deluxe_Ski_StrapPair_p48036.htm or something like them.  Mine are blue and not Rossi.  My shop gave me them every time I brought in my race skis when I used to race, so you could probably go to any shop and ask for a pair.  They stop your skis from sliding against each other and there is a small piece of fabric in the middle to keep the bases from touching while hiking.

dont get a strap that has foam. it absorbs water and rusts the edges of your skis. i use the rubber ones.

dub post, but i have a new question cause i know nothing about this years Dakines. What is the diffence from the HP an tha HP DLX???? Just tha cable ski carry?

i had that problem with my helipro when i borrowed a pair fatties so i just put the tips through the bottom loop and the tail through the top strap... basically the same just backwards.

but yeah as said by some others, the heli II has that adjustable loop feature which is better.
