Replying to Crazy Lightning Stories

In the summers Im a Lifty at the hill during biking season . we have to be really carefull aboutlighning  because Lift towers are like giant lightning rods. So one day im working as a storm rolls in and we are listening for thunder. As we are doing this all me and my co-worker see is a flash a Boom and a HUGE bolt of electricity gaps from the top of tower one and the ground less than 20 feet from me. Im like, howd I not get electricuted!?!?! So it turns out lightning struck one of the towers farther up the line and travelled down to the bottom station, and before it got the the station and fucked everything up ( short out electrical/electricute people) its gapped to the ground.
