Wolf Creek or EagleCrest?

Considering either one to move to. I basically am set up to go whereever I like in a few years, and these are the top two resorts Ive considered. I ride backcountry/pow/trees, but I love a soft groomer now and then. More than 300" of snow is a requirement (Being that thats how much we get in NY). They have smilar vertical drops, too.

Or really, do they even compare?

i haven't been to eaglecrest, but wolfcreek is awesome.  it isn't really the biggest mountain but still really fun.  we went a while after the last powder day and could still find a good amount of it.

btw if you didn't know this, wolf creek doesn't have a park, so if u hit the park (you said you usually hit pow so i'm not sure if this really matters) don't expect anything at all

yeah i can varify this. eaglecrest is on a totally different level than any other resort, hands down. if you want to know more about eaglecrest and juneau just pm me and ill fill you in, im a born and raised juneauite.

we dont have much verticle, and only a few chairs, but the terrain is literally EVERYWHERE. and theres really easy access to sick backcounty terrain. check out my video. and we are only a few hour ferri ride from Haines, which is home to the best big mountain terrain

wolf creeks amazing, town of pagosas dope to. i don't know if i've ever taken a groomed run there.
really local kinda mountain, never seen a cat or ski patrol although i believe they're around somewhere.
cool place.
i've never heard of eagle crest though?

i can't say enough good things about wolf creek. it's a sick resort with no people and endless good snow. the terrain is pretty sick and the snow stays untouched ten times longer than it would at any other resort. the hike-to terrain is sick. and the backcountry around there is amazing. snowmobiles are very helpful for that, though. southwest colorado is amazing. there are a ton of other sweet places down there as well. silverton is relatively close so that can't possibly be a bad thing. and the town of durango is pretty close and that's an outdoorsman's dream come true. basically, wolf creek would be a great choice.

if i had another life to live...i would spend it all in juneau skiing eaglecrest. if you have the opportunity to move there, then you must.

I ski Wolf Creek all the time, and the snowfall there is amazing, I have had so many deep pow days that have resulted in me skipping school. Some nice hucks that you can find there, one being waterfall.
The only problem that I find with Wolf Creek is that the runs are so damn short. You hike and still don't get too much vertical. The problem is the lift is built far back... meaning that you ski the steep part but then have a kinda flat jeep jail to the lift and that accounts for 1/2 of your run. Ask a snowboarder about Wolf Creek and you will hear them bitch about that. As mentioned above you also have no park. Good luck with this though.

the vertical for eaglecrest isnt rediculously bad tho. its just known as a bit smaller mountain. yes and haines is right next to us. plus if you have a sled or a homie with a sled which you will have if you come here shreddin dan moeller (area) near eaglecrest is like no other.

Look man, I come from a 500 foot tall hill. Its a love hate relationship, but any mountain over 1000 feet is huge to me, and Im gonna do my best to preserve this innocence.
Honestly, I spend 7 minutes on the lift, and 2 on the hill at my slope. But its 2 miles from my house, unbelievable

and the thing is about eaglcrest if you live in the town your near the hill. if you live in a  normal area your at most half hour away.
