Skimboarding

I was on vacation this past week and I brought my skimboard and i went to the beach like every day and just skimboarded for hours straight. I had some tricks on lock and was just having a really sick time. I think its pretty tight what do you guys think?

seems sweet... until you get a closeout beach break on the head like every time. doesn't that get kind of annoying to all you skimboarders out there?

i dont know if you guys have ever heard of Kayotics, but my town is where they started and its rated the #1 spot for skimming in the world. too bad i cant skim for shit

Yes. I've got two kayotics boards at home. The sea demon is one of my favourite boards.

My dad was into skimboarding in high school, so when it started coming back into popularity he got really excited and buys a new board at least once a year. As a result we now have 2 kayotics, 2 four skims, 1 nemo, 1 zed, 1 victoria and probably a zap.
That said I am pretty terrible at skimboarding and my friends refuse to learn. So I get two weeks of solid skimming each august on our family vacation even though the beaches in Vancouver are way better.

one of my favorite things about skimming is that if you want you can air off of the wave and do flips like in the vid with the skimboarder doing a backflip, thats how i learned fronts, lincolns, and rodeos.

Ya i love skim boarding I do flatland tho currently my best is a 540 pop shuv or big spin. Its really hard to learn new tricks tho because the board is just so damn clumsy.

i loveee skimboarding!

ive got a zap pro and wedge. unfortunately, the east coast summer so far has sucked balls, and working full time doesn't give me that much time or energy to go skim when its actually nice out, gah! also, there's only one good beach in my area that has a pretty decent break, everything else is flat! oh, and that one beach is constantly making me sick when i skim there, i always end up swallowing too much water.. haha.

i love skimming and ive been doing it for 4 or 5 years now. its easy to bring to the beach and you can session basc anywhere. my only complaint lately is that in order to progress in skimboarding you really need to go to proper beaches and living in CT isnt making that easy..anybody know some good secret spots?

this is a dope thread i ride a custom exile pro shape and i have freak traction track top and arch bar my friend is sponsored by exile skim boards freak traction and all these other skim company's hes a few years older than me but he just went pro hes like 17 but i am good and am working on getting better and riding for exile skim boards soon i live on the outer banks NC and the skim is great here they even have but it makes it along ride up too my local ski mountain in the winter.
