Hey, storing skis?

i dont feel like searchbar-ing, I just got a pair of 09 invaders still in the bag from my friend. (he gets mad deals for working at jay peak so he hooked me up)

these are the first pair of skis i've bought in 10 years and plan on riding (cause i snowboard as well) and I want to keep them crisp for the season. How do i store these bad boys?

oh and what bindings should i get? i want something light, and i can drop around 200 tops for them

What nomensteven said. If they're in an air tight bag, it's more important that you prep your bases before the first use, then seal them with wax.

They come out of the factory with a layer of wax.  keep them in the shrinkwrap if you are really worried about them and when its time to ski...mount them and ski them one or two days and then wax them.  You don't need to put storage wax on skis that are brand new and have never been skied or tuned.

and they have a layer of factory wax normally
(all as mentioned above)
and, alltough you probably know, dont put heavy things on them (camber will go out of the skis)
same goes for tying the skis together around the waist, thats bad for the camber
since they're still in plastic you dont need to worry about edges rusting
-otherwise apply wax over the edges and whole running length of the ski...

thats about all you can do, alltough im fairly sure you'd have to store skis inappropriately for like a lifetime before they'll turn bad....

That may be true for some companies, but no ski or snowboard company I know of properly preps bases. New ski bases should have a layer of warmer weather (e.g. swix ch8 or ch10), hot wax dripped on to the base and reheated 3-4 times at 10 minute intervals without scraping. This gets the deeper wax absorption and better base health.

Most ski manufacturers drip garbage wax and do a quick once over.

Yes, you are right, they do a shitty wax job, and no, most don't even drip garbage wax, they take a bumming machine, like what you see at a rental shop and run it over that.  Dripping wax on your skis and then reheating it 3-4 times is overkill.  If we were racing...yes, that would be acceptable as it will help build a more solid, stronger base, but we ski in the park...he has Line Invaders.  Sounds like you are a good tuner or waxer and that's awesome, but I personally think making some kid go out and buy an iron and wax to ensure he gets an extra 10 days out of his bases is dumb...especially considering the most skis will break in some way long before you have tuned a ski to its death.
