I suggest you drop out of school, get a job and then purchase new skis.... or just use your afterbangs and look much cooler than the average gaper from your school.

well i have no money and i snapped my two year old blends. So since i cant get new ones. i stuck them back together and connected a peice of an ancient pair o k2s to the topsheet with seven machine screws

haha, do some kids really think that they are guaranteed powder on a trip out West, or it is always snowing, or there is always fresh?  That's kind of how this thread seems.  If you don't want to you Afterbangs in the powder then just stay in the park.

This thread got me thinking... My school is taking a trip to the French and Swiss Alps in March, so I'm trying to save like crazy for that and I'm definitely not buying new skis.  A couple season old K2 Missdemeanors will be fine right?  Even if I could buy or borrow skis, I have no idea what kind would be best?

definitely, I've ridden some pretty sweet powder on 89 waist Scott Punishers and it was sick, but abangs are symmetrical so tail hookage might be more of an issue. manageable though, my anthems are by no means pow skis but they can manage if you can ski. you'll be fine duder.

think about the old days, they used to ski pow on much skinnier skis than the afterbang

youll sink more but as long as its steep enough, youll go down hill

I ski my K2 Fugitives all the time in the pow just to show that it can be done...just ride centered over your skis and use the pressure and momentum of your turn to carry you into the next one...DONT LEAN BACK...those are 167's and I'm 6 ft 220lbs...peoples jaws drop when I show them, so don't complain, jst learn how to do it right...big pow skis can let anyone ride pow...it takes a "real man/woman" to ride with skinny skis

punishers have a very soft and if believe early rise tip. plus, i'm sure a lot of people with afterbangs have them center mounted. i did this with my walls, and you really have to lean back a ton in like 3 or more inches.

for the people talking about afterbangs in powder in TC5, it was anthems. Afterbangs in pow was in the CASG edit or Voleurz i believe.

The West is actually a magical land where there is always fresh snow, snows every night, is sunny and fresh all day.  West just chooses between powder or park.  That is the West.  There is ALWAYS powder.

anywaysss center mounted afterbangs/invaders, your weight will wanna be back just a little bit because your tips are gonna dive like crazy.

I know they aren;t that skinny, but I've done it in screams too...leaning back is a really common misconception...if you are centered you can just kick through and your tips will pop right back up...leaning back doesnt allow your skis to "load" properly, thus it's difficult to go into the next turn...this is why you see people hopping or lifting their inside ski to turn...
