Planning to buy new ski for Utah trip. which one ?

So im going to utah next years in january 2010. And Im looking for powder ski, i will not bring my dumont for park and groomers. So i want them to be good in the park and on the groomers. Btw  Im 5'9 and 145 lbs and i never ride in deep pow and never try rocker ski, so i want a ski easy to ski . I was looking in 2010 ski, but i got some deals whit salomon and atomic so i was looking in the czar and shogun tought. I will mount them whit sth 16 2010. And yea i have like 500$  for the ski

ps. where should i mount the fix on the ski?

Oooooo... Powder skis are really really personal style skis...for Utah's super light snow the hell bents work really well, but if you get them on groomers and crud they don't have the stability and it makes for a sketchy ride...My current pow ski is the big trouble, in the light fluff they are a lot more work, but you can seriously take these skis anywhere on the mountain and they absolutely destroy crud...I haven't rode the shoguns tho, they look like a really nice ski, maybe get on a demo pair? And depending on how you ride, should determine how you mount them...If you plan on landing switch a lot center mounting is a must...but If you just plan on charging through stuff jst a hint back makes a huge difference...the plces where you will notice the difference the most are the flat sections in Utah...when center mounted it can be difficult to keep floatation across the entire flat...just remember to still ride centered over your skis, all too often people lean back...to teach this I usually pull out my park skis and demonstrate that even with "skinny" skis I am still able to ski through pow as long as I am centered...

Big Trouble was a good suggestion.
I suggest the Volkl Gotama, 4frnt VCT, K2 Obsethed for utah all mountain use.
That czar would be sick.

ty. And i was looking into the fujas 2010 but they cost like 710 whit the new schizo. i thing ill buy the czar. But i just want to know how they are on rail and groomers. Cause i want to hit some rail and do 180s on big air ( i not very good ). I will mount them center in 181

WHY NOT THE CAYLOR?!?!

it's cheaper. it's one of the best powder skis out, i don't see what's turning you off from them. they're supposed to be great on groomers, and of course amazing in the pow.

You said you get deals with Atomic. I would go with the Atomic Blog. Great skis for everything you mentioned, dont mount them at centre though. I would suggest mounting them at whatever their furthest forward RECOMENDED mounting point is.

has anybody tried the atomic blog?i'm thinking of buying them but i dont want to make any fast decisions cuz it will be the only pair of skis i got

I bought a pair of skis to go out to Utah with. for $250 I got a brand new pair of Ninthward Rory Silva Pro's. 140 / 111 / 130 @  183cm.
mounted them at free ride (back for all mountain use) on some 08-09 griffon's i picked up new for $180. I figured why spend a boat load on a pair of skis I won't be able to take advantage of unless I go out west.....

So those are my Utah skis if you will. Traditional camber, yada yada. I know Ninthward is pretty hated on here though so I gotta watch my words.

Exactly the problem. No one has ever heard of, skied, or bought these skis. ON3P has had only a handful of customers. It's not that they are a bad product or anything. Just they have no long standing reputation.
