Free ipod touch deal

Alright, so i'm looking at buying a mac for school and thus i'm interested in getting the free ipod touch that apple offers students. I was just wondering if anyone here had claimed the rebate before and more importantly if apple required a school e-mail address or anything. I'm a little concerned that they'll want something like this and since i'm going on an outward bound semester for my first sememster i haven't gotten an e-mail address or anything yet.

My macbook pro actually just came today and i did get the free touch with it...ill let you know how the rebate works...my guess is it will take at least 4 weeks to get the rebate. As for ordering it, i got my laptop through Syracuse University so it required my school ID. I doubt you'll need to have a school e-mail if you buy it independently. I think the deal goes for everyone. Feel free to get at me if you have any more questions.

When you buy it you print off a coupon such as this:


Then you mail it in. They don't ask for much school related info if any. You can either choose a direct deposit method which takes 2 to 4 weeks or a cheque which takes 6 to 8.

yeah, i'm trying to buy mine online.. and again because i'm goin on the outward bound semester i haven't gotten a school ID or anything.
