Ok so i'm going to UBC starting in september, and i'm faced with the dilemna of which pass(es) to buy. I know i'll be getting the whistler one, because i'm pretty sure UBC has a sick deal for that, but then I also wanted to get one somewhere closer... somewhere to go for like a 2 hour session or after school or something. I know cypress is gonna be like $169 cuz its closed from like february 1 to march 15 or something, so where should I get a pass. This would mainly be for park riding so keep that in mind when you're giving me opinions. Thanks
pretty much can't go wrong with Grouse or Seymour (I usually get my grouse pass first since I live 5 minutes from the base).. I've been up Cypress a few times, but it's pretty pricey and they've never really impressed me. Save the money you'd spend on Cypress and put it towards Whistler!
so grouse is cheap, if you just want to get a winter pass(y2play), dont know the exact price.
also grouse is open all winter during the olympics(24 hours er dayyy), unlike cypress (and i think seymour aswell).
the skiing on grouse is pretty good considering, but it does get quite crammed on weekends. weekdays during the night are usually just max 5 minute lines(but can be bad if theres some fucked up thing goin on with the weather or something).
i havnt skied cypress for a while so im not gonna say much about it, but between seymour and grouse I'd go with grouse. first because the park basically takes up your entire lap and the lift isnt a slow double. seymour (unless you like to hike) is about a 10 min ride up ( when it DOESNT stop or break down for an hour) and about 2 mins down. and at the end of the year atgrouse last year they a sick jump line that had 5 jumps
