So i unloaded a semi today...

And it was hard shit.  2100 items and it only took an hour and 15 minutes.  One other guy helped me.  Anybody else do this?  or have a really physical job? if so what is it?  crabbing?  professional anal rapist?  or are most of you lazy lifeguard fucks?  I did that once and hated it, way too boring.  I like pushing myself and staying busy as well as getting domed by falling boxes...

i work a construction job, 45 hrs a week (but its baaaank so im not complaining)
use a 109 lb jackhammer, takin out an industrial loading dock at the moment

I used to work at a thai restaurant and once every 2 weeks i would have to unload a f-150 full of 50 pound bags of rice, 40 pound boxes of canned coconut milk and a bunch of meat and vegetables. It wouldn't have been too bad if thats all i had to do, but i worked as a busser and had to do both jobs at the same time. It was awful.

ya construction is hard work but fuck if you like 20 making 18 bucks an hour its worth it.  I make 10 but i was desperate for a job so whatever.

60 hours lifeguarding- easy.  60 hours mowing lawns- strenuous.  60 hours doing data entry is easy, boring, but easy.  60 hours anally raping is physically challenging.  see what im getting at here?

I life guarded in high school and you will miss those days.

Try working on a drilling rig, 12 hours a day seven days a week... Then you get a day off. It was the hardest shit I have ever done not to mention the 2 hour round trip drive. That leaves you 10 hours to shower, eat, and sleep a day. I went from football weight of 215 to 185 in one summer. Not to mention you are constantly covered in water or oil and every 5 days you have to completely take apart and move the drilling rig.

Anyone else roughnecked before?

i worked construction last summer and i was the young job site bitch so all i did was carry shit and like manual labor, not building stuff until the last week where i got to lay joists and frame a deck

Yeah i used to load and unload trucks for the USPS, not too bad.
Working in a factory is the shittiest job ever though. and lift ops is awesome, but has its downs aswell, like standing for 12 hours in the cold while everyone nabs your powder. I also was a butcher for a while, fun job until you cut yourself

i don't have a job like that (i'm in graphic design) but a friend of mine works 70+ hours a week doing welding and cutting. he has cuts and scrapes all over his arms from it and last week a co-worker of his got his finger chopped off right beside him.

It may not sound like much but when you are managing a store at 60 hours a week.  Only day off is Sunday, it takes its toll.  You have to travel, work with idiots.  Fix everyones paperwork.  Sure, its not manual labor as to moving pallets but its still tiring work.

I have an internship as a drafter. I draw machine parts on a computer in my cubicle 5 hours a day 5 days a week and make $12 an hour doing it.

haha what is this, claim how much of man you think you are thread. I used to pour crete and build hog barns and think i was cool cuz it was a tough ass job, but really there's people who do those type of jobs everyday till they're retirement age, a couple summers ain't shit. but yeah physically demanding jobs are a tough way to make a living, idk how people do it their whole life.

i work construction all week, 7-5.

then do sidejobs when they come up for me such as this weekend. worked 12 hours saturday and 12 hours sunday so no social life whatsoever. but made over 2g's on the job so its all worth it. 2 g's in two days, worth it for sure.

i find my cubicle to be quite entertaining. stapler wars are bomb. We have "pods" (groups of 4 cubicles) and we shoot staples at the other pods, you might be thinking its lame... but when you have industrial staplers its mad crazy.... you will not believe the distance you can get with those things

i work for my dad painting houses. like, 35-40 hours a week 10 bucks an hour isnt bad though. can be tough if your sanding a like a deck or something

Sweet.  see that kinda shit is fun to me so i dont get bored.  you using solidworks or autocad?  Personally i prefer cadd just beacuase thats What i used the first fours years of drawing but SW has some cool features.  Where do you have this internship?

I work varying hours a week as an auto mechanic, or the shop bitch, you choose. The work isnt really that intense, but it can get really fucking frustrating really quickly. Oh and mounting and balancing tires is a bitch too.

I LOVE physical work. It's tiring as shit, but the satisfaction at the end of the day is great, when you sit down it feels like you earned it. Today I was helping the roofers at the house we're building carry the rubber tiles we're using for the roof. Big packs that I had to carry up two ladders. I wish I could do more work like that. Most of the time I just paint.

I've definitely unloaded semis before.  Tough work.  Now I work as a teaching assistant during the school year, but in summer I work for a landscaping company.  Today me and two other guys laid about a 1000 square feet of paving stone and have about another 400-500 to do tomorrow.  Super hard work but it's sooooo satisfying especially after being in a classroom with bratty high school kids all winter.
