if you plan to go like... this week (which is looking to be scorching for the area), go earlyearlyearly. its like an oven on the snowfield.
Its fun, but deceptively long volcanic slog up, but you get a fair amount of vertical. But with the warm weather, probably a good chance the snowfield will be like glue. Although, the longer you wait, the more the thing gets suncupped (which I hear it's getting pretty suncupped) and less you can ski, but by now, you could probably only get to pebble creek at the most anyway.
It will be hot, but get an early start and you should be fine. tomorrow might be cooler than it has been. I was just up there working the last week, so im pretty up to date on the weather there.
