Armada Help

so im trying to decide between two of armadas skis....the arv and the ar6. i ski at 7springs every weekend which is on the eastcoast in pennsylvania. i weigh 110 pounds and im 5 foot 5. i ski 40% park 50% hardpacked and groomed, and 10% trees, mogals, and boot hieght powder..i also want to make sure that the sick isnt going to feel like a 2x4 for me and that i can butter it.

the snow gets very chopped up, and sometimes mushy, so i need something that i can get through that easily at high speeds

btw i ski mainly rails for park and the jumps i do arent monster..(maybe 15 to 20 feet or less)

I had a pair of center mounted ARVs and rode them in the park, and I loved them. They are softer than the AR6s too. +1 for the ARVs.

Ar6s are sick. not sure if you would like em i ski only park and never powder cause my hill gets none.

haha yeah..i would barley even call my hill powder. it like none of it. i rode 65 waist last year and i was fine. and saying that, im scared that the arvs will be too much to handle for my size and the ski im coming off

Well if it makes you feel any better, I live in WI, so my ARVs say 1 day of 10" of snow, other then that, they were park and ice only.

either one will be good
personally i had the ar6 rode pow in them fine

just picked up a pair of ARVs though andam super stoked on them

^^^how deep of pow did you ride em...i also want to make sure i can blow through crud just find when im charging down hardpacked

ARV used to be much softer than they are now

Either would be fine, but the ARV w0oARV won't ski as well as the AR6 on harder snow

Both super fun. AR6 is heavy.

i skied 08/09 ARVs and i honestly didn't really like them. they were heavy and annoying.

but, i own 06/07 ar6s (OGs yep) and i really like the smooth buttery flex. they were my one ski quiver (haha) until i bought bacons last year. and, i ski in Washington where there is a lot of snow. i would be skiing either park or bc everyday

i own ar8s 181
i ride springs every day
they rip the whole mountain there is no reason to own arvs at springs
we just dont get the snow
if you plan on any park at all go ar6s but if your planning on taking some trips out west or something and just cruising springs the go arv
but if you a weekend warrior go ar6s they have great sidecut and carve up every thing from giant boulder to rippin avalanche switch!
i went center but i only leave the park when the snow is prime and my ar6s took it great
but for u id go no more the -2 if you plan on any park at all.
but if no park go -3 or 4
sorry i only read as far as springs and arv or ar6 haha i figure im an expert being as got the ar6 and ride springs haha

you ride 40 - 50 fuck it may as well got center or -1 on ur skis it is springs after all haha
and as far as mouting goes the "progressive stance" is the closest line to center but is still 2 back from true center so if you want to go true center or -1 your going to have to measer out 1 or 2 cm and draw your own line. dont ask willis to do that they WILL fuck it up and there mad expensive. just go over to the hiddin valley sporty shop. lower prices better service coller employes

oh and i rode mine this year when we got the big storm 19 in if you call big haha
and they did just fine just keep up your speed and rip the steeps they will handle anything springs has to offer

its ther gunna be 1 cm over your head and will be weird at first but if you center mount you will love em so much more the longer lenght makes grabs switch and reg carving more smooth plus will be better for pow as well
and the extra tail and tip lenght realllly help riding away from backseat or swith forweward leaning landings!
pluss you cant forget about the super pipe at springs!
i did my first flair this year early when it was open and by the end of the year i have cork 9s and flat 5s dialed in there! and my 181s really helped with that due to the extra lenth to help me pull away from off ballance landings on the transitions
when in doubt... go longer

holy shit. if you find a kid with ar6's and griffons with oakley crowbars that have a pink iridium lense..and notice that he is a noob at park, just go up and say something because it will be me (my name is cole by the way)..maybe you can teach me a thing or two :)  because this is my first true twin

its offical. i just ordered the last 166 off of evogear.com for 380. i got 20 bucks off becuase of a price match garentee and i got griffons to go with them :D

I mean the ARV is definitely going to be more versatile but you obviously aren't going to need a wider ski. Honestly though I'd say get the Elreys they're cheaper softer and a little wider than the AR6 but not as wide as the ARV. And yeah they aren't the biggest performance ski Armada makes but it's still better than some of the better skis in other companies' lines. I mean TJ Schiller used to use them for Big Air comps. When he rode for armada. So I'd say thats probably your best bet. They're kind of in between the two skis. Check em out on Armada's website.
