Grouse Tram

alright, so tomorrow I was planning on hiking the Hanes Valley from Grouse down to Lynn Canyon, but I checked the Grouse website and they say it's $38 to go up the tram? wtf? Anyone know if there's any way to get up there for cheaper, or is it really $38 for a ride up on the tram?

Its only an extra K or 2 man, you can do it and save the 37$ on weed for the trip.

the grind really isnt that bad man. its like an hour, mabey chill for a little bit up top. dunno, i guess if your hiking after you'd have to do it pretty early. doing a big hike up around there would be siiiick tho.

so, fyi - i didn't end up going. this is the, fuck, feels like millionth time i had plans of heading up grouse (for hiking, skiing, whatever) and didn't end up going. every time i think about going to grouse for a ski (usually in the spring after seymour is closed), i do the math and say "fuck grouse", end up driving up to whistler instead... grouse sucks, they need to smarten up and stop being so damn expensive.

haha yea thats the problem, they did smarten up and got all the tourists that will gladly pay that and then buy 2 meals up there in a day

38 sounds really high. i did that hike earlier this year and I don't think I payed that much... I can't see myself forking out that much. I will say that their so dirty they tried to charge me multiple times (we spent the nice just above hanes, so they wanted us to pay full price to go up, then the $5 to get down), but I wouldn't stand for that. You could avoid the grind and do the BCMC trail; it's a little longer, but fewer stairs/people.
