I still got 5 weeks left until I am out of school.


The current public U.S. school system is horrible. The school year needs to be lengthened or changed so that you don't have a huge 3 month block of time off. The school day should also be lengthened.

also,

an adolecents attention span is 55 minutes, while classes last around 95 minutes, depending on the school.
They do it save money.

Unless you like finishing high school behind all the students from almost every other developed country and quite a few of the undeveloped ones, it is much more how about yes.

Those are the same people whom you will be competing against for college acceptance, as well as jobs. If you would like to remain lazier, uneducated, and all around less qualified then your competitors then by all means, continue to enjoy the ridiculously long summer vacation and unreasonably short school days of the U.S. education system.

how can you be sure that it is the long summer vacation and/or short days that is causing that? it could just as well be not so great teachers, sub-par methods of teaching in general, or a whole bunch of other reasons.

and something unrelated, but my highschool has the longest school day in MA (out of public schools, maybe private too). 7:30-2:51, which was composed of 5 79 minute blocks. our free periods didnt count as class like it does in most schools, which is why our day is so long. luckily, i am no longer in highschool.
