How far would you drive?

My local shop is considering carrying Jiberish. They are afraid that no one would buy it. I've told them that being the only shop in the east may have its perks. I'm just trying to see if there is a market and convincing them, the shop is in Morgantown, WV (about an hour and half from Pittsburgh).

I'd drive more than 30 minutes to support a local core shop dude...I'd never buy ski stuff from the interwebz if I can get some from a core shop that's not like 2 hours away...gotta support the core shops dude

So people can try on their shit instead of making "Im 5'8" and ahh what size jiberish should I buy?" Threads and to support local shops. I drive 70 minutes to my local shop (Maui North) or 2hours to Burlington to go to the "Ski Rack"  If Ski Rack carried jiberish I' drive there to buy it.


So the answer is I would drive two hours to buy jiberish

the percentage of skiers that would shell that for a hoodie is very small. 
and there are not very many skiers in that area who know who jiberish are and one a percentage would actually buy a hoodie.  you are looking at selling maybe 5-10 hoodies per year. 

a much better location would be farther north, where there is actual skiing.

I don't think it matters about the people who would drive just for the hoodie, but jiberish is a good company so it should sell to people that are going to the store anyway.  Most people don't go to a shop just to buy neff or nomis but they sell just fine.

but morgantown is in the middle of NOWHERE, seriously, and it's a shitty shitty place that nobody should ever got to except for a party weekend...and for god's sake, dont ever go to school there

But on the other hand, stocking it would expose it to the skiers in that area and expand Jiberish's market.  But still, it probably wouldn't be in your store owner's best interest

Truth, I walked into a shop just to look around and walked out with a Neff beanie
I would've bought some Nomis stuff while I was up in Whistler, but the prices there are disgustingly high.
I'd rather buy stuff from companies that sponsor skiers, but it's hard to find.

Tell your manager to stock Voleurz.
It's much less skiing-specific and much less...hyphy is the best word.  I mean, I'd buy Jiberish stuff to ski with but I wouldn't wear most of it, say, going to school.  But you can buy a Voleurz hoodie or shirt and ski in it all season, or you can wear a Voleurz hoodie, and especially a Voleurz t-shirt, just about anywhere else. 

It's much more likely that any random person, not an NSer or even someone who doesn't ski, would by Voleurz than it is that they would buy Jiberish. 

So basically, your store manager would have a much better chance of selling Voleurz and making a good profit. 

But I understand if that stuff isn't really up your alley.
