i want to make a drop in. i was wondering how high i would need to make it. i am only hitting 8 ft long rails but they are 2 feet tall how high should it be so i can have enough speed to go up a jump and slide the whole thing.

you should join build a jib for answers to questions like these, but

id say make it about 5 feet tall, thats a decent amount of speed, but it all depends on how steep or mellow you make it

Build it taller than you think you'll need it. 

You will undoubtedly be getting better and soon you'll be sliding longer rails and want more speed.  You can lose speed in many ways - it's much harder to get it without the ramp.  Make the ramp big and just place the rails far away and let friction slow you down.

i know somone who made a bytp with that new elastic cord thing. he just layed down the turf tied the other end to a tree and put a rail in the middle. it works great and you dont need to build anything
