Replying to HV30 or d40?
So I have a job finally, and some money to spend, and I'm completely torn whether I want a DSLR or a new video camera. Currently my video camera is barely working and it's some JVC pieceofshit. For still photography I either steal my friends D40 or just use a shitty point and shoot type thing.
I am taking a media arts class next year where we will be using HV30's and FCP so I'll be able to get a lot more familiar with it, and I wanna make some biking edits this summer, and skiing edits next winter (we filmed a ton two seasons ago, and basically none last season).
In college I might be going for a graphic design major, and if I wanna do anything like that, I figure I would basically need a decent still cam.
Any other imputs/suggestions to help sway me? I'm leaning towards getting the DSLR and if I make decent money get the HV30 later in the year.
