True Twins

Does it really make as much of a difference as people say to have a Symmetrical ski.
And would it make a difference in your buying a new pair of skis if one pair was and one wasn't. (which would you go with?)

it makes a differance if you center mount or not, because on true twins you should centermount

not true, there are many skis that are true twins but that just means the tail has the same rise as the nose. symetrical means you need to center mount

Thanks, I'm not really worried about mounting though I'm just curious about how they ski.
like is it noticeably different going switch or not really.

If by true twin you mean same rise in tail as tip, then its not a huge difference unless you're goin over deeper stull.

If you mean symmetrical, then in theory you should be able to ski them exactly the same switch as normal.

yet, most of them are equal or worse than a normal sidecut ski when skiing switch.  Honestly,  I do not believe that symmetrical skis are at all better than regular sidecut, and that it is a total sales pitch.  If you have ever skied Chronics, Pipe Cleaners, Troubles, TNKs, etc. switch, you know that they ski better than Anthems or Invaders switch.  There are some great symmetrical skis(disorderlys, Jibs) but that doesn't mean they wouldn't have been better if the sidecut was changed.  People who suck at skiing switch, or suck at park, want a gear reason why they suck, when in reality, they just suck.  They do not realize they suck, so they go and find the boots/skis/bindings labeled "made for park" with the most park features, and buy those.

the reason those skis you named off ski better switch is because they have some stiffness to them and aren't noodles like invaders

the PCs, TMs, TNK and Chronics will ski better than anthems or invaders, period....

i think addicts ski pretty dam well switch, and they are symmetrical.
but yeah i do agree that people need to stop blaming being bad at switch on their skis

Invaders arent that bad for skiing switch cause hey look what happened to me the guy mounted them backwards and refused to remount them and i didnt have any extra cash so now im skiing the ski switch when im actually going forward but it still works great

invaders are 100% symmetrical
dims, flex pattern, everything.
so it doesn't reallly matter which way they are mounted.
