Lightning almost hit my house. (pic)

So the other day we had a bad storm.  It was lightning really bad.  This is a picture of my place, the guy donw the street took it and gave it to us.  The building on the right is the house, the building on the right is the barn, the building on the far right is not our place, just another home.  Chack this out.

that's some sick lightning.
two days ago i was sitting right where i'm sitting now and there was a thunderstorm, i think one bolt must've hit the hill across from my house because my chair literally shook and the thunder was instant.
a few years ago we had some really bad storms (shit was flooded, people were kayaking in the streets), and we were all sitting down eating when a bolt hit the woods about 50 feet away from my house. it was hilarious because my little sister started crying.

I just noticed I messed up something.  The building to the FAR right is the house.  The building in the middle is a barn/work shop and the building to the FAR left is another home.  Its further away than what it looks.

Working at a grocery store many years ago we were unloading a transport trailer and just as I stepped out of it back into the loading dock the trailer got hit. Loudest BANG I have ever heard, huge flash of light and the whole thing shook. Scared the hell out of us

First of all, super sick picture. I wish I could catch a lightning strike like that...

Second, my lightning story(s):

First: I work at a golf course. I was mowing a green that is at a pretty high point on the course, without any trees around it. It was a shitty/rainy day and there were storms rolling in. At one point, as I was walking across the green mowing, my hands and feet got SUPER tingly, and I couldn't hold on to the mower anymore. Pretty much felt like "pins and needles" when you slept on your arm or something. All of a sudden there was a huge flash of light and super loud thunder. I almost pissed myself thinking I was about to get hit by lightning. Luckily I was ok. But a buddy of mine was driving up the fairway at the same time, and he said that the lightning jumped from one cloud to another, right above my head. Super crazy.

Second: I am also a firefighter, and one night I was working at the station when some big storms rolled through about 3am. While sleeping, a lightning bolt hit the radio tower attached to to the station. It was the loudest thunder I have ever heard in my life. Seriously like a shotgun going off next to your head. Everyone just flew out of bed wondering what the hell just happened. The lightning pretty much fucked up every electronic device in the station, including almost all the computers, the overhead paging, all the electronic door locks, all the radios, printers, scanners, etc. It even fucked up the alarm clocks in the bedroom and made them all go off. lol. It turned out, it even blew fuses out of some of the radios. Like, there was smoking pieces of plastic on the floor next to them, it was pretty crazy.

I dont know about the camera.  There was a storm, it was lightning for a few hours and I assume he knew it was lightning and went out to take some pictures.  Maybe he has a really nace camera, he does make a lot of money and maybe taking pictures is a hobby of his.  He does take pictures of property from airplanes for clients.

its not too hard to take pictures of lightning.. And it usually lasts for a while too. And he probably thought it would look sick if he got a picture of the house with lightning around it, and he was right.

i have a friend that has been struck by lightning like 2-3 times. she's kinda a dumb blonde so she may be making it up. but none the less fun to claim.

There was a thunderstorm when i went to north carolina like 2 weeks ago, and i was sitting down using a laptop, and thunder was so loud and close that it made the windows shut. it scared me.

I agree with you there.  i love just sitting and watching it.  I use to live in Florida, my mother had a home on the Gulf Coast, we were right on the beach.  I would sit and just stare at it coming in off of the Gulf.  Those were the days!

my house got struck by lightning like 5 yrs ago. it hit my chimney. the whole thing exploded. there were bricks from the chimney about 100 ft away from my house. and there was smoke in the attic. and it fucked up the phone and wiring in my house. as it hit i was just opening the door to my porch. when it hit all i saw was a shower of sparks fall off of my porch roof.

Thats amazing.

A few years back in a house my mom used to live in, they were all chillen in the basement with the TV on. Lightning struck outside and went through the window that was right above ground level, made a connection with the TV set, and blew that bitch up

if the dude takes shots from planes he's probably got a dope camera/he took the time to put his name down in the righthand corner so its definitley a hobby of his.

sick fucking picture. I knew a guy who got hit by lightning in the chest and it came out his lower back he's got two fucked up looking scars.

^^I'm guessing lightning hits golf courses as much as anywhere else, it's just noticed there because there are always people and everything is so manicured that if something gets hit, it just gets noticed.

I work on wireless towers and we had one get hit 2 days ago. First time that has happened (in the 3+ years I've been around) since everything is grounded so well. Blew router parts all over the place.
