How do i use the Dynex 6' DVI-to-HDMI Digital Video Cable for macs?

i just bought a DVI to HDMI cable for to watch movies from my Mac to my LG TV. does anybody know how to set it up so i can view what im watching on my mac to my tv!

well first off id like to thank u for purchasing from best buy- second- just hook ur shit up and flip thru ur inputs till u get to the correct hdmi- easy as that

i found that out. but my tv is displaying a screen savor instead of whats actually on my computer. do i have to change a setting or something on my mac?

and yes, i did buy the cable from best buy haha

try clicking the apple logo in the upper left corner of the screen to access your System Preferences.  Go to Displays and click "Find Displays"  i think is what its called.  See if that puts the correct display on your tv screen.  It's strange that it isn't just automatically displaying the correct video if it's displaying the screen saver. 

For my macbook I have a mini-dvd to video cable and that works just fine BUT its the least clear input.  VGA and HDMI are obviously better.  ANYWAY, see if the displays area has anything that helps it to work

how did you fit a standard dvi into your macbook, theres no dvi port. just mini dvi...

i have about a two year old mac book pro and they still take the old dvi port not the mini.

press F7 to make the screens display the same thing,  otherwise it's like big once big screen and you can drag stuff from one side to the other
