Coeur D Alene, ID

So my girl is in college, she got a job offer in Coeur D Alene, ID for $90k. I have not been there a lot, just once. We didnt even stay there a long time. Has anyone been there? Is there good skiing there? I think its about two hours from the Canadan border. Anyone know anything about this place? How is the snow fall there?

I've never been there, but a buddy of mine got transferred out there for his job. He absolutely loves it out there. Last I heard he's buying a house and planning on staying. Some pretty good places to ski, and lots of "locals only" type of hills that have powder stashed for days. At least that's what he's told me....

I think schweitzer mountain is close, nice lakes and stuff. Real close to washington and canada. Good skiing north in nelson and fernie.

for 90k a year on a job salary its a great place to live.

Not huge but its a good sized town.

skate park in town and plenty within small drives

you got schweitzer being an hour+ drive

Silver mt really close

Lookout little further than silver (sucks dick)

and Mt. Spokane being fairly close as well (which rumor is this year things are getting flipped around park wise and being ran by people who know whats up)

Lake access is bomb...Tubbs Hill is a prime rock jumping spot.

Fun place. I don't live there but being in WA pretty close I've been in and out of the town quite a bit.

IT IS TAHOE LIGHT.  SCHWEITZER IS THE BEST MTN IN A 200 MILE RADIUS, AND THE LAKE IS BOMB.  GREAT CULTURE IE FOOD, FESTIVALS ETC.

its pretty dope, i live in spokane (about 30 miles away)
schweitzer is legit as fuck, silvers super close too, so solid skiing

the skateparks little, its fun enough though, great beaches and stuff.

Dude the lake is so sicknasty. My family has place on it and my aunt and uncle live in town. There is so much to do on the daily. 4 season town for sure, Silver Mt is your best bet for powder stashes all day. schweitzer mt is sick aswell, but more of a park based mountain. Dont get me wrong, the powder is good but it just get skied out within the first hour. Trips to Seattle are about 4-4 1/2 hrs so that is a plus too.

watch out for the skin heads if youre a minority. only downfall really.

silver mountain is the closest. and lookout pass is just a little further.

schweitzer is kinda the other way, but its like 2 hours of so if i remember right.


silvers a pretty legit mountain, lots of rad locals. i'd move there for sure if i was you, its a fun town.

CDA has a ton of babes hittin the bars in the summer.

fail. if you know where to ski at schweitzer you can ride pow for a week and get fresh tracks everyday

same with mt spokane and silver.

and also this season the park manager at schweitzer is leaving them and moving to mt spokane, so were gonna have a legit park up at mt spokane.

Silver - 30 min drive

Schweitzer - 1 hr 15 min

Mt. Spokane - 1 hr

go dude.  north idaho is tits.  lots of stuff close.

small town, but for 90 k you can buy a ton of blow to cure your boredom.  haha

silver is close, schweitzer is close, and you have washington. montana, and oregon near by, as well as it's close enough to canada.

best choice ever.

i stopped at schweitzer for a few days and there was 3 feet of fresh pow, its rated #2 or somthing for best tree sking america, and there is tons of backcountry, plus a pretty sick park. one of the better mountains i have ever been to, and whistler is in my backyard. nothing beats that.
