Rumors are starting to circulate about Tom riding for Scott skis. The truth is that Tom is now riding for Burton. The reason to him riding Scott skis is that Burton and Scott have had a long term company relationship. To keep the "hype" down to a minimum, Scott offered up their graphics to conceal the fact that he is indeed riding the first ever Burton prototype skis. Tom has been reported saying,

"I'm stoked to be riding for this great company (Burton)! I know how much they've supported and done for snowboarding and I can imagine that they will do the same for skiing."

The new Burton skis called the, hyphy sticks (a working title), are due to be on display at SIA 2010 in Boulder, Co.

FUCK BURTON COMING ANYWHERE NEAR SKIING!! No doubt they could potentially bring loads of money into freeskiing but theyve raped all the money from snowboarding and tried turning it all into a business. If they do it'll make it dead easy to spot the gapers though. No real skier with any self respect would ever buy them

i can't believe the number of people in this thread that have taken the time to ponder if tom wallisch is actually sponsored by burton.  and after thinking about it for a second they're still unsure if the thread is a joke or not.

PLEASE TOM NOOOOOOOO!!!!! AMPLID IS WAY COOLER THAN BURTON now when we get into arguments with boarders over which is better (skiing vs. snowboarding) they'll just say the best park skier is sponsered by burton

To clear things up further, Tom has been riding Scott poles for a while now making this deal less complicated. To say that riding with Scott set him up for this Burton sponsorship is not true.

Shit I heard about this too. One of my buddies who is living out at hood this year told me he overheard some 4bi9 type guys in the chairlift line talking about something with burton and skis. I didn't know this was what it was about!

I wouldnt put it past Burton to try and break into skiing and try make more money. And if they did a rider like tom is exactly who they would pick up cause they know how many people really fuckin idolise him already. Hes "cool" so they could use that to get the gapers onboard.

Not hate on tom here! I got no doubt hes a sound guy and for sure hes a fuckin tight skier but hes def got the image a company like burton would like

i personally think that its pretty cool that burton is getting into the ski industry.  it will bring lots of money and a whole new view on skiing from the singlebladers.

my friends brother used to ride for burton and he would go through boards like nothing because of really shitty build quality. hopefully they can fix that.

and hopefully tom doesnt turn into the next shaun white
