It's a long summer without any football and its driving me nuts. Personally as an Arsenal fan I feel that there are still a couple areas that we need to address. So there have been many interesting moves already including Real Madrid dominating the market with the additions of ronaldo, kaka, benzema etc. while the big teams in England have been pretty quiet for their standards. Post new and existing rumors here!

As glad as I am to see CRonaldo out of the EPL(im a Liverpool fan) I dont think that there will be too many more big named ppl makeing the moves. Real has jacked the price up sooooooo much higher then most clubs can spend esp. with how the world economy is. Eto wasnt goin to go to Real, he and Man City were talkin recently but i think they fell thru.
As a Liverpool fan I think we are in good shape with the addition of Glen Johnson. I do think we could use another ouside mid. I dont think it has to be some big name player but someone that can help lighten the load over the season for Reina, Babel, Kyut, and Beniyun. I am a little freaked without having someone up top to do the same for Torres over the whole year.

yea you might have paid a tad bit for johnson but we'll see. if i were you i would hope to god that alonso and maschurano (sp?) don't leave. also i've also heard that man utd are making a push for eto

real is so fucked up. they have debts like shit und still find a bank that gives them money. they even sold their TV rights for the next years to get the loans...

and they still go for ribery. i am a bayern fan, so i would hate it to see him go. someone powerful should make real stop.

i personally would prefer a system like the ones in the US sports or at least something similar. comon, 95 million euros for a soccer player??? there should either be a salary cap or a limit for transfer sums or both. this stuff is getting ridiculous

if city snatch terry and tevez ill be happy. so far theyre building up a good team with robinho, bellamy, santa cruz, and gareth berry on the line.

real madrid is making huge trades and i cant wait to see them play. im getting the feeling that liga will be more entertaining than premier league.

with all the additions real is making to their squad, they´re gonna have to put some solid players on the market. guys like van der vaart, van nistelrooy, and robben all could make solid additions to any squad.

and la liga has to be the most dominant league without a doubt now.

the thing with teams getting all the superstars, is that on that team, people skill wise will be pretty level. that will cause guys to try and stand out, which can cause a team to fall apart. thats how it was with real before and i have a feeling that with them doing this again, problems are unavoidable.

well arsenal hasn't done too much. vermaelean or however its spelled is it so far. Actually for all of the english teams there havent been too many big transfers in. The problem is how real has jacked up the prices for everyone. Though they are stacked...ronaldo and benzema alone are quality. And hopefully this will get platini off the english league about the prices.

Summer sucks. I hate transfer season because so many BS rumours fly around. I just want it to be september now.

Oh, and doesn't matter too much to me, but as a frenchman, i want ribery out of bayern. He's not gonna be able to advance his own playing ability with them anymore.

they've got a decent team and a couple good young guys (richards, johnson), but they always seem to underperform.

thaksin was a moron for firing sven, he could've transformed city into one hell of a team.

Owen isnt even Scunthorpe quality at this point...

he's the biggest waste of a contract of all time. If it wasnt that his contract ran out with NUFC and he went to manU on free transfer, it never would have happened.

yeah i wouldnt want terry either. hes old as shit and overrated. not to mention he loves to make bad tackles and get red cards. but hes the captain of chelsea, and if the deal goes through that would be pretty impressive. it'll be interesting to see how well they do this year because the club has changed sooo much and last season was such a drama and their squad was constantly changing. they better be finishing top 5 next season.

I'm a Newcastle supporter (via my geordie cousins) and a Celtic supporter (via my scottish grandfather)

so... basically i couldnt give a crap about manchester or chelsea, and basically the end of last season sucked for me more than all of you haha.

he might, but i doubt it. valencia had no money to try and convine him to stay, but now that the team got some american investors it looks like we might have the money to keep him around. it´s still a possibility though.

John Terry is the most over-rated back in the game now. All he does is, like the other guy above said, is rash challenges at the wrong time. If i was a Chealse supporter i would be glad to hear he was heading out the door maybe calvaliho will get some PT that he deserves then.
On the point that Real will be sellin players i would agree that they have to but nothing seems to be goin on. I was thinkin the same thing as a liverpool player i would snag Schnieder he is doin nothing at Real and i have faith he would produce in the EPL.

It wont last long... they'll be right back up there after this season, and the tyne-tees derbys will mean more than ever.. Can you believe how many games NUFC might just dominate in this following year? It will be great for the young players to develop their form and confidence I think... which is something Newcastle needs to do really bad.

all I can say is that Newcastle will never bee that of what Leeds turned into... yikes...

yeah they will most likely only lose one or two games this year. it will be good for a kid like carroll ( iforget his first name) to get into scoring some mroe goals, he was starting to really get into form at the end of the season.

Yeah.. Andy Carroll could end up being a really good player. He's tall, fast, and seems to have a lot of energy and composure. Plus he's a local to tyneside.. so you have to hope he turns out really well.

Outside of Joey Barton, I think the team is really a good mix of guys... (but for christ sakes sell that cunt off to huddersfield or something..

Joey Barton is just a typical waste of talent. The guy can definitely play, but my god he lets his head get to him way too much. I wish that he could live up to the 5 1/2 million pounds that Newcastle paid for him... who knows if they'll even keep him for next season...

he's like the Milton Bradley, or Sean Avery of soccer...

Thats sick I have always had a bit of liking of ManC. Given, Dunn, Richards, Zabaletta, Bridge, Robinho, Ireland, Whright-Phillips, Tevez, Santa-Cruz thats some fire power. I dont know how their line-ups goin to work out but all i got to say is that Steven Ireland NEEDs to play. If Huges benches him I will be pissed.

Man city has pretty much become what chelsea became when the Russians took over.

They have pretty much dominated this offseason, and if it werent for Real Madrid's signings, they would be taking the cake. If they actually find out some crazy way to sign john terry, and if Adebayor leaves Arsenal for them, then Real's eyes might even go big...

They are young, they are strong, they have players who I think will play well together.

They have cracked the big 4 within a few months... Unbelievable.

they have not yet cracked the big 4. Only in terms of spending. We'll see how good they really are may of next year.

And adebayor is off to man city now as well. I'm beginning to like the idea of salary caps etc. Thanks to man city and real madrid, no one can buy anyone decent without spending an excessive amount.

I hope man city crashes and burns miserably. And i want roman abromovich to turn over control of chelsea, because i remember reading somewhere that if does, they have to repay him something like $500mil over the course of i think 3 months, which would ruin them.

The spending and debts in football are getting to be a bit outrageous though. I'm proud to be an Arsenal fan because wenger seems to be one of the only managers in the world he doesn't keep spending until he's 600mil in debt. Arsenal is mainly in debt due to the costs of their new stadium which they are steadily repaying.

haha, nahhhh he was on side, it was legit.

i know how to deal with you chelsea fans, i'm living with 2 (possibly 3) in september. I don't mind too much, cause around here, theres very few fans of football anyways so you make do with what you have. And in any case, none of us are immensly over the top about it, so we wont kill each other on matchdays.

but i am very serious about internationals, and bayern right now is killing me. Ribery is not going to advance or get any better with them, so i think its time for him to move on. I'm a bit of a barca fan as well, but even i was thrilled to see benzema go to real because he can only get better. In the end, i could care less about clubs, as well as my france team does well

Isn't all you have to do these days to do that is pull a spending spree though? I think Man City might even have a legitimate chance at the premeirship this upcoming season.. seeing as Chelsea hasnt added a whole lot.. (although, be stoked on that new russian dude, he's GOOD) Arsenal has lost more than they've gained, and same with ManU.

The abu dhabi folks might have just found the greatest time in history to go on a spending spree too, seeing as everyone is being a bit of a tightwad in this economy... not to mention, they are loaded with cash reserves (due to oil reserves haha)

if that team works quickly to establish some chemistry, and the players can work together well, they could straight dominate. Team has immense loads of talent.

i think the team that should worry most should be man utd. Losing tevez and ronaldo is huge, even if they dont think it is. Chelsea hasnt done too much, but i'm not sure how you conclude that arsenal has lost some. Adebayor was good, but he didnt want to be with them, and his playing clearly suffered. I think eduardo, bendtner, or even this chamakh kid they are possibly signing could all fill in for him quite well. And who knows what wenger will do once he has the funds. He's been known to pull some unexpected transfers.

and actually i've been reading that adebayor might not be going. Apparently he's having second thoughts about it.

im willing to bet that adebayor will go. saying that he wont is just a tactic to try and increase the bid size for him. his playing has suffered at arsenal, and it seems like he has lost a connection with his teammates. he needs a  change

last time I heard, bayern wasnt shopping him this off season, and talks had died down with man U and Real...

There hasnt been much talk from the ribery front in the last few weeks (more thanks to all the manC signings and such than anything) but who really knows whats going to end up happening, as we still have another month of transfers to go.

i went to the bayern v stuttgart match at the end of the season and that's all anyone could talk about

basically he didnt want to leave, then he heard kaka and ronaldo were both going to real, so he got sad that he was being left out and starting running his mouth

still, my only concern is liverpool, and im still waiting for a decent summer signing or two. im praying for silva or someone like that, maybe an additional striker or another strong winger, which we've never had.

the only good thing is that we've managed to hold onto all of our best players so far this summer, which is more than pretty much everyone else in the EPL can say right now
