Fucked up Apartment Situation

Im in a bit of a shitty situation. Here it goes kind of a long story. Im renting a house in Salt Lake with a couple of friends and I, they went home for the summer so we offered a kid we know a spot in the house for the summer. We'll he fucked up some of the walls with graffiti and I kicked him out for it. He is supposed to fix everything and hes done an alright job but it's still kind of noticeable.

So this morning when I got home from work I walk in and find two smashed beer bottles on my bed and my fan, coffee maker, and 6 monsters are gone from the fridge. So I decide to call the cops because it's bullshit that I have to deal with this. they come I give them all the info, they take prints from doors, fridge etc. Not sure what's going to happen with that. But now im concerned about the basement because about a month ago we had a pipe burst and the carpet got soaked and was never really cleaned up so now the basement is infested with mold and its getting really bad. So should I just call my landlord and have him come over and show him all the fucked up shit, and tell him to fix all this shit like broken doors, sinks.

any advice would be appreciated.

 i think the landlord is responsible for everything outside of the apartment in the "common grounds' while you are responsible for the inside of it im am not 100% sure tho but good luck

not totally true. based on my experiences, anything that came with the apartment, as well as all utility pipes, wires, etc. should be repaired by the landlord if they break from natural causes. however, to the OP, you kind of fucked yourself on this one because it's your responsibility to tell him/her as soon as something breaks (i.e. the pipe). now that you've left it for so long, you're probably going to assume some of the liability and you can count on your security deposit going towards fixing the mold situation. also, since you called the cops, they're going to be getting in touch with your landlord anyway, so you might as well just fess up now.

whoops sorry I left that out, the landlord already knew about the broken sewage pipe and he was supposed to get a steam cleaner, about a month ago and he hasnt.

hahaha, then that changes everything. for your own health and safety though, i'd get on him until he shows up to clean up the mold, and when he comes for that, just get everything fixed at once. if you give him enough of a hard time about the pipe situation, he may be willing to look past charging you for the other stuff too. good luck
