Can't wait for this, very exited. I imagine that double, triples that use New-School moves like flatspins, corks, rodeos and Mistys can become a large part of the sport. I think that the people who tend to dislike doubles or triples are worried that modern freestyle skiing is becoming like aerials. My take on this is that freestyle skiing is getting to a points now where it is catching up with or perhaps overtaking that technical aspects of aerials with more style. I was watching a movie called "The Good, The Rad and The Gnarly" a ski movie made in 1985ish and it features a section on aerials. They are pulling out Triple fulls and some russians are squeezing front half twists into god know what. I showed this to my dad and his mates. Their response was something along the lines of, ' that's a lot more impressive and skillful than any of these other skier nowadays'. Not that I agree, in fact I think they are completely wrong, but if skiers like turpin are pushing the boundaries technically to a comparable level to the old-school aerialists with heaps more style, personality and using new flips and rotations then I believe that the free-skiing community would gain more respect and make it seem a more reputable sport.

This is not to say that big slow tricks are not as difficult, i just think that there is room for double, triples and massive spins.It's nice to see something once in a while that makes you think, 'holy balls! Is that real?!'.......Like I said, can't wait to see this.

i was there yesterday when he did the triple and i can tell you if he wouldn't have been that gib he would have stomped the triple
that was retarded like cause it was grabeb and not hucked at all which was crazy
turpin he's on of the most innovative rider ever and has no credit for that
he's almost 30 years old and still kicking ass

he need props for everything he's doing

this whole turpin triple thing reminds me of the new cliff huck record thing that happened a while back... people were either really stoked on it or against it, and everyone was dying for pics/vids

It's Turpin so obviously it's going to be sick. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the result of fucking around / "let's see if this works". Turpin actually had a switch double 2 years ago so  he's always been killing it with this stuff.

i think doubles should have been the limit.

triples??  sounds like were doing that aerial stuff now.  i really do not want to see these triples flips take off like the doubles did.  i would much rather stylish slower rotations over triple backflip 1080s.

hopefully it will be like one of those 300 foot cliff hucks that people see but then really dont care and forget abouteventually.  Or maybe like harlaut's switch 1620 where it was so unrealistic we dont see it that often.

but really? a limit? you want to limit skiing and stop progression so that the sport doesn't go anywhere else? fuck that we are opening new doors every day, and nobodys gonna forget the triple flat 10 dont even try to knock on his accomplishment with landing that trick its sick as fuck and all you haters need to shut the fuck up and open your eyes to how ridiculous at skiing and fucked up in the head turpin had to be to go for a triple.

I agree that double flips have an enormous margin for improvement, but face it, it would have been done before too long anyways and what better person to huck one than Turpin?  He has always been ahead of the curve.

Knowing Turpin it will have  a stylie grab.
I remember when he coached my group at Momentum and was teaching me corks.  I asked why couldn't I grab my shin and not my ski just to get the rotation down. 
He replied because a grabbed shin doesn't look good on a magazine cover.
I'm sure Turpin approached his triple with the same attitude.
