UW vs. Gonzaga

So I´m going into my senior year of high school, a time where I´m supposed to be planning for my ¨future.¨  My two top college choices at this point are the ones I stated in the title. They both have aspects to them that I like, and I´m pretty torn between the two. Basically, I just want opinion of you Washington dwellers before I tour the schools, because I´m just a lonely young man trying to make it in this cruel world. Just share whatever. Which school pwnz the other, which has the better skiing, hawter babes, least rapists, better skiing, etc. I would also love to hear from anyone who went to either of these two.

UW on the majority of the counts, plus you can get residency in a year and save several thousand dollars. Also I think Spokane sucks so I'm biased.

and to any UW students, is the enormousness of the school overwhelming?

UW. Got to me motivated enough to get work done on your own.  Lots of large classes your first year or so, you dont get to know your professors very much at all.  Other than that way better skiing, city, FUN stuff, etc..

UW - WWU
stevens, snoqualmie, mt baker (car would help), close-ish to van BC
rich, hot ass girls
puget sound/beaches/lakes.
way better sushi

Gonzaga
mt spokane, schweitzer is pretty decent, silver is alright.
still more rich hot girls (as WSU is close by as well), some hot farm girls too.
lake CDA, awesome in the summer, not as good as the ocean though.
dicks burgers in spokane makes seattle dicks its bitch IMO, way better and cheaper.

ive lived in both areas, and i say without a doubt pick UW. the westside is awesome, better skiing, less dusty, and not so many dudes with trucks bigger than their mobile homes.

UW for sure. i'm going into my junior year at garfield high school in seattle, and UW is easily a better school in: education, city/location, skiing, and general ballerness.

Gonzaga is in the middle of nowhere, and is kinda far from skiing (good skiing)

UW there is:

Snoqualmie Pass: ~45 minutes
Stevens Pass: ~1.5-2 hours
Crystal Mt.: ~2 hours
Mt. Baker: ~3 hours or so
Whistler/Blackcomb: ~4 hours

so basically, there's a TON of legit skiing to be had near(ish) seattle

all i needed to hear.

thanks everyone. UW is sounding a lot better. plus, the last thing i need is more big trucks. my town is basially the lifted truck capital of the world.

as a UW student I would not recommend anyone go who does not already have most of their pre-requirements done. By that I mean the 100 level chem classes as high as you need them, a good chunk of the calc series done, bio 180, and whichever physics you need. Those classes suck balls right now and they are only getting worse with all the budget cuts. Next fall Bio 180 is going to have 700 kids per class with no T.A.'s. Chem will probably end up similar.
I would recommend knocking those off at a community college and then transferring to UW, you will pay way less money, receive just as good instruction, and whatever grade you get will not go on your UW transcript.

Basically your first year of classes at UW sucks balls for the most part as they (the respective departments) try their dammed hardest to lower your gpa.

For the record not all of us noobed it up our first year or two... I had fun taking those general classes too. Billy I thought you were making that shit up about bio 180 then I looked at the registration. Haha biology sucks anyways. Doesnt look like any of the other classes are that bad~

I think it all depends on what you want to do with your life. Both have different things to offer. My final two schools were the exact same and I chose Gonzaga. I liked the small size and being from seattle I wanted to get away from home a bit. I also think Spokane suffers some bias from the west side of the state. I certainly felt that way, but once you live here it really is a nice town with cool activities and a good vibe (minus the meth heads that are everywhere). UW is a great school but it offers a completely different education than Gonzaga offers. So you ahve to decide what it is that you want. The skiing is good around here too. Schweitzer is a really solid mountain and some of the smaller hills are really fun too. If you have any questions PM me.

it really doesn't matter....especially if your undecided on a major. the 100 level classes help you figure out what you would like to major in.
