Looking to buy a camera and going for JCV Everio GZ-HD300B

Has anyone used this camera and know something about it, from what i've heard it exports in MOD files which are unrecognizable, do they work in FCE or do you have to convert them

I'm looking at the full hd and the 60fps and those are sounding good,

or am i wasting my time and get an HV30

aight, i'm looking at the HV30 refubed for 450. But also, do MOD files work with FCE

Oh and i'm looking for a camera that has full hd, i don't really care if its dv or memory but the memory has to be at least 60 gigs

This is one of the reasons why you do NOT buy JVC cameras.  .Mod files are a BITCH to work with - generally, they require some sort of converter program, and generally that comes with the camera or you have to buy it online.  Usually, though, I think you're stuck using the stupid program that comes with the camera.

Search YouTube and Vimeo for HV30 footage - some of it is absolutely fantastic - you just have to be smart with the camera and know what you're doing with the computer.

But yes, like Allen said, when buying cameras, stick to Sony, Canon, and Panasonic.  The rest are soccer mom/pewpie brands.
