Where should I move for the winter?

I taking the year off from college and looking to move to a resort town, where I can walk/ride a bus or bike to work and the slopes every day, get good skiing and make enough money to at least break even with costs of renting / eating. I don't have my own car and will probably be trying to split rent with my girlfriend.

So to all NSers out there who have ever spent a winter in a resort town. Where were you? How did it work out? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really trying to go to the breck/vail valley of CO as that is where I go to school, and I'm going for something new.

US, Canada? AK? Europe?
anyone with any experience please leave some words of wisdom.

BigWhite gets a lot of snow, and they seem to have a nice park.

Moving to Vermont would be a good choice for someone who already lives in Colorado?  Why take a step down.

I love Squaw, one of the sickest mountains on the planet.  There are many other good choices too.  Mammoth has a better park than Squaw, even if the terrain is not quite as sick.  Mammoth also has a sick park, if you are into that, and a very long season.  Mammoth lasted from early November to June 14 this year, and they have good transportation.  You can take a bus from almost anywhere in Mammoth lakes to the mountain.

Tahoe and Mammoth are not cheap, however. 

If I were in your shoes I would either go Tahoe/Mammoth or Utah.
