When I wax my skis everynight, if they need a bit of sharpening, I do it. But generally I don't do it like everyday.

i rarely ever sharpen my edges (because 60% of them r missing) and i either use snow or s candle i alwasy have in my back pack for rails

i don't. it would obviously be pointless on my park skis, and the edges on my mountain skis stay plenty sharp (although if i fucked something up i'd get it fixed)

Dude, I get really pissed about rails at resorts when there are hella burrs on them. I expect more from them.

yeah as a resort, and having features like rails, and a park crew for that matter.. they should be out there like 2-3 times a day checking the rails and making sure theres no burrs or damage so they dont kill their customers... ive seen to many people get hurt from shitty rails that have been beaten to death, and nothing is done to make them more rideable

yea our park has a grooming crew for the first time ever, and its still shitty most of the time. they dont check the rails for rust or ne thing, and one of the rails has frickin rust on it ..gay

obviously i don't sharpen my edges to jib... the question was how often do you resharpen after hit rails? or, for people the jib, how fast are your edges warn down from rails and you decide to resharpen them.

If you ride rails for more than a few days theres no point in sharpening (under the boot at least) since too much material gets ground off. Otherwise, just follow you regular sharpening routine.

Last night I was in the park and I noticed when I was throwing my skis up on top of the car that a piece of the base was coming off. It was like a shaving that got cut out of the base. Is this from a burr in the rail?

Proly. What i love is the dumbass who dropped a Kershaw easy open knife in the damn snow. I almost ran the thing over. Think about what that kind of kife would do to a ski base. I just love non-thikig mo' fos.

Haha, I've got a kershaw easy open...but i didn't drop mine in the snow. I don't know why anyone would take that skiing in the first place...landing on it if you forget to put the safety on could be bad.
