Dude, the whole argument over the PC and MAC is the OS.  They're both just computers, but they're OS puts them apart.  And your running MAC OS X on your computer which basically makes it a MAC.  Dumbass

ive done the exact same thing to my hp pavillion. only because i was bored and like the way a mac just sets up.

You have to think about it though, when you buy a Mac, you get OSX, a well-designed machine (Weather it's a desktop or a macbook), and good customer service.  It all comes at a price though, and that's part of the reason why people go against Macs.

Here is a list of my personal pro's and cons with Mac vs. PC.

-Mac-
      -Pros
            -Good design, like the MBP trackpad, the unibody design, the quality parts
            -OSX and the magic it delivers
            -Quality service that's not outsourced to fucking India
      -Cons
            -Quality comes at a cost, are you ready to pay for it?
            -Overpriced parts.  You can have another 2gb or RAM instaled by Apple for $200, or you can do it yourself for much cheaper

PC
      -Pros
            -Familiarity, which is a personal one for me.  I feel like I am 3 clicks away from any location on my hard drive.
            -Price-point products.  You can grab a desktop for less than $400
            -You can build them.  Building is fun, it saves you money, and you get a quality machine to suit your needs.
      -Cons
            -A low price tag comes at a price.  Cheap/poor design haunts laptops with their overheating issues.  Cheap desktops with cheap motherboards and cheap power supplies are practically impossible to upgrade.
            -Viruses.  90% of the world's computing products are using operating systems from Microsoft, thus they are more subject to attacks.  Problems can be avoided with lightweight, efficient, and free products, do your research, know how to protect your PC.
            -Shitty outsourcing.  Yeah 'John', I know your real name is probably Sanjay or something...now  you're the one who is going to help me fix the HP I got from walmart??




This was probably a waste of time, but I hope it accurately displays the opinion I have when it comes to computers.

well i have a HP laptop, my girlfriends roomate has a macbook.  same stats more or less i paid about $600 less.  Her hard drive has crashed 2x....mine is going strong She has a cool lightup apple on the back...I dont...$600 to have a "cool" laptop is not worth it to me.  And with desk tops i would much rather have a pc because the only advantage of a macbook vs an asus or something is the durability imo

dude i know i just got a new HP HDX 16 custom and has better stats than a MBP and my verson has a lite up hp on the back to compete with apple and i got it all for less that a regular macbook. i payed $900 for my laptop and couldnt be happier

haha a few years ago one of my friends got a $4000 Dell XPS gaming laptop, with lights all over it that changed colours constantly and looked really over-the-top.
the stupid thing is probably worth about $300 now.

Yeah, lights make or break the deal for me.

I got my Antec 900 just for the blue lights.

I didn't get it for the 5 120mm fans, the 210mm fan, or the fact that it's made out of steel.  9 drive bays?  Pfft, this shit glows straight BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same for my Zalman.  I don't care that its all copper design allows me to step my game up from 2.3 to nearly 4ghz.  Piece has a blue light on it too!  I could have saved money and gotten an aluminum HSF with a blue light and it would be just as cool!

HP really has their shit figured out, I never knew a glowing logo was all that separated a $600 craptop from a Mackbook Pro.

I might be the only sworn PC lover that supports Macs like I do.

I see the benefits of paying for what a Mac offers.

In the grand realm of things, you shouldn't have to lose sleep over the price difference between a good laptop and a Macbook.  I wouldn't touch a laptop under 1k, so a 13" MBP is very appealing to me, should I decide to get a laptop.
If I have to worry so much between a 1k Windows based laptop (hell, even a $600 one) and the competition, I should spend less time worrying about computers and get a better job.

To all these people saying how the hardware in macs are so much better, you don't want to see the computer I'm in the process of installing OSX on. (And it will be able to receive updates just like you guys. Native install FTW) Intel Core i7 920 3 TB of Hard disks. (Raid 5) 6 GB of DDR3 Ram (putting another 6 in it in a few months) Nvidia 9600GT (I don't need anything more powerful) It's going to run circles around my sisters iMac that she just bought for over double the price.

Who the fuck needs 3tb of storage.  U could keep every porn movie ever made on that thing.  And unless ur running 2000 programs at the same time, why would u need 6, let alone 12 gb of ram.  So stop trying to make ur little super computer seem cool, cause the fastest that proccessor will run is still slower than the fastest a macbook pro, and an imac will run.

No it's not.  His runs 2.66 ghz.  My macbook pro runs 2.66 ghz.  You can get a macbook pro, and an imac with a 3.06 ghz processor

really it doesn't matter what the fuck you have. when i think of mac i think of how there are almost no virus' for it and that macs are a lot easier to figure out. when i think of PC i think of gaming and tech work. if your looking for a comp to do hardcore computer work and gaming PC is for you. if your looking to have a computer that is easy to use and rarely crashes mac is for you
